[Even in a building full of them, finding Snakes tends to be a matter of being in the right place at the right time. Right now the right place is the roof.]

[There's a Snake laying on a ledge dangerously close to the sheer drop of the roof. He has an arm thrown over his eyes and an unlit cigarette propped between his lips and one hand loosely holding a battered silver lighter; but besides that he's absolutely still, save for the slow rise and fall of his chest. He might even be asleep. As unaware as he may look, sneaking up on him is still probably not the best of ideas. Though you're welcome to try it.]

((Short post is short. OKAY HI I'm alive, I miss playing with you guys lets see if I can stop being dumb. :|b Spoiler alert: the answer is no. Tags are sorta sporadic and slow sorry guys. ;w;))

[There's a sound not unlike a muffled explosion down in one of the lower floors. In the relevant hall, the source of the noise becomes clear when a spray of river water and a soaked Snake come tumbling out one of the doors, knocking it clear off its hinges.]

[He coughs out a bit of water and shakes his head to clear it, standing slowly and warily and looking around at the flooded hall. This...isn't Arsenal Gear. But the more he sees the more he gets the feeling that all this is a little familiar.]

...you've got to be kidding me.

((Lame and finally canon updating to make my life easier 'cause I play him post mgs2 elsewhere anyway and I keep forgetting. :,D Specifically from when he jumps off Arsenal Gear at the end to chase down RAY like an idiot, for symmetry because it amuses me. Don't worry, Nexus, he remembers you. It's just...been a couple years.))

[James has been getting antsy and so, even though he's been warned that going into random rooms is dangerous, he's eager to take on any challenge today. Energetically, he flings open a random, seemingly normal door, and enters a room, temporarily blinded by a cold gust that suddenly kicks up snow.]

[Once the initial wind dies down, James finds himself in a pure white snowy field. It's nearly immaculate, fresh and untouched. There's an old log cabin off to the side and on its porch stands some kind of weaponry that James has never seen before. Very curious now, he rushes towards it, and starts to hear an interesting whirring sound...]

[... before he gets hit right in the stomach with a snowball, nearly losing his breath at the hard impact. He doesn't notice the TARGETS HIT: 0/3 counter above his head, either...]

((Welcome to the SNOWBALL FIGHT room! You must hit three people with snowballs in order to leave. :3 There are special snowball-shooting weapons stored in the log cabin if you can reach it... as for what kinds of weapons they are, I leave that up to you. :3))

[It is entirely for Otacon's sake.]

[Even if it would be far more satisfying and make far more sense to be committing bloody murder for Otacon's sake.]

[But no. He is far too kind for his own good and capable of forgiving the unforgivable, taking in injured creatures even when they were rabid.]

[That is why Liquid is reading The Day of the Jackal in a chair next to the couch in his quarters, on which lies a wounded, blinded Talib.]

[The lights in the ground floor lobby flicker back on, and in the middle of the room lies the corpse of [livejournal.com profile] old_killer , dispatched by several gunshot wounds to the chest.  Those passing by may notice a trail of bright red blood leading away from the body and into a nearby room. ]

[If one follows the trail of blood, they'll discover one Solid Snake slumped against the wall; gasping, disoriented, and obviously in pain.  He's covered in blood, all of it his, technically, though much of it belongs to the man lying dead outside.  He is bleeding from several minor bullet wounds and a deep and far more serious stab wound to his chest, in which evil!Old Snake's stun knife is still embedded.  If one looks closely, they will see the evidence of electrical burns as well.  His head is bowed and his eyes shut, and the hand not busy applying pressure to the wound is fumbling clumsily with his codec.]

[call : 141.12]

((With a bit of messing with the time-line, Snake's gone and killed his crazy old counterpart.  Discover the body, or follow the trail of blood and help/hinder Snake.  If you're an Otacon, you may be getting a [call].  He's looking for [info]no_philanthropy , but he's really not concentrating well enough to differentiate. Responses may be slow at first, orz.))

[The young Liquid is sweeping through the halls on the hunt.]

[When he'd first discovered the broken Hal was gone from his rooms, he'd restrained himself from going after him. Otacon was a grown man, and not his prisoner. No doubt he wanted time to himself.]

[However, it had been too long without a word from him. It was entirely possible he'd gone back to the bastard Liquid from his own world from sheer force of habit. Liquid knows something about craving the approval of someone who's done nothing but reject you.]

[He yanks a door open and sticks his head in. He's instantly drenched. Water room. He punches the shark back into it and slams the door closed.]

[He tries the CODEC as he prowls.] //Otacon? Are you there?//

((OOC: Looking for [livejournal.com profile] no_philanthropy and [livejournal.com profile] sepentofheaven specifically, but others are welcome to join in.))

[So, Nexus.]

[There's a hall on the 8th floor that is flooded with several inches of brackish water, with what is likely a very familiar looking figure slumped motionless against a wall.]

[What do you do?]

((FFFF What am I doing- Canon!Snake, straight from Liquid/Ocelot blowing the USS Discovery and making off with RAY.  Poke him if you want him to cough up riverwater all over your shoes or something.))
