[With the blue roses finally ready, Naomi had dropped a bouquet off in front of [livejournal.com profile] otaconic's door, along with a note stating that she was sorry for damaging their trust and that she was no longer pursing the matter they had discussed, and one in [livejournal.com profile] elisula's lab. She decided to wait in one of the many hallways of the Nexus. She had sent a lot of different people to get samples of the blood she needed and she hoped at least some of them had them by then. Dr. Hunter took a seat on a bench at the lobby of the 10th floor.]

[For a man that never admitted whether or not he was an 'otaku', he sure spends a lot of time being a hermit at home during most normal people's waking hours.  Dave decided to venture out today. He noticed that Hal wasn't in the apartment, again, and he figured the man is working himself to death in the computer lab. With a a furoshiki-wraped bento box, he's headed to the computer lab to bring his lover something to eat. Dave knows Hal well enough to know that he hasn't eaten.]

[After meeting a female version of Navit named Naomi, Otacon had promised to help her find a certain male Solid Snake in the building through accessing the camera feeds. And she secretly hoped to find anyone familiar to her. She sat at Naomi's computer, with the woman peering over her shoulder, as she began to hack the Nexus, trying to access the current stream of data going through the cameras or the old data they had previously recorded.]

[The good Doctor has been incredibly busy preoccupying himself with a collection of tasks that he and Nastasha had conversing over. He had a few documents up on his computer filled with names, destinations and weaponry listings, as well as profiles of Alice Hazel, Elisa, Vamp, Big Boss and EVA, all of whom he had hoped to get in contact with today. He had sent them all a message via the computer but was uncertain if they would take him seriously or not. He requested them to come by the offices.]

[Through surveilance, he's managed to cut out at least three quarters of the rooms in the entire building as being a possible hideout for the evil partnership, though there was one little issue he was still trying to overcome; he still needs to neutralize the antibody agent of the system. He knows he has to find a way to hack into the Bit Brain Barrier. As he had suggested to his partner, a virus was the only solution into overriding the system. He already had a storage point set up so that if he did something wrong by hacking into the system, there was a system restore point, so to speak. He had figured out, through VR simulation, that the amount of results that could occur from overriding the system was unlimited; problematic, to say the least. But he also knew that in the future, it was Sunny that was the key to perfecting a virus strong enough and less threatening in the long term to how the Nexus operated.]

[If you are part of Philanthropy or happen to be someone that Otacon trusts, you may be receiving a CODEC call right about now.]

Hey guys. I just wanted to let you all know that there's now a password system rigged into the new offices on the top floor. Now I'm only gonna tell you this once, so listen carefully;

4 8 9 2 4

Try not to write it down anywhere. We can't have anyone threatening knowing of our plans and ruining our chances of succeeding this mission. Feel free to drop by to test the new system out!

[After some soul searching via meeting a version of Jack, another man named Jack, and George, Naomi had made up her mind. She had to reconcile with those she had hurt and she had decided to start with certain Hal from 2012, remembering how awkward their recent meeting had ended. After slipping a note under his office door, she waited for him in the kitchen of the 11th Floor, wondering if he would even come by. She had all the supplies for sushi laid out and she was currently making some and placing them on plates.]

I wonder if he'll even come....

[She sighed, frustrated. This apology thing, she predicted, was going to be difficult.]

((For [livejournal.com profile] otaconic if he wants to show up, for Tiny and JG, and for whoever wants some free sushi. :3))

[Naomi had just left the Nomad, going back to Liquid Ocelot, when she paused. This wasn't what she remembered.]

Where is this?

[Surely she wasn't hallucinating. Locations just don't change this drastically. She took out a syringe and stabbed herself in the neck, injecting the nanomachines into herself. This must have been a side effect of her disease. When she opened her eyes again, everything was still the same. Dr. Hunter stood there, trying to figure out a logical reason for her situation.]
[identity profile] otaconic.livejournal.com
[How long had it taken for Otacon to ask Nastasha out for a drink? He hadn't been concentrating on his friends at all, or Philanthropy the past few months. He had been so caught up in his own drama and problems with Snake that he didn't stop to think that other people might be having problems around him. Nastasha had been so good to him throughout the years and now seemed like the perfect chance to make that up to her. Starting with a drink, and a comforting shoulder.

So following their recent little meeting, Otacon had taken it on himself to lead his friend to a cozy bar. Something quiet, but loud enough to drown out any words or tears that might happen from their get together. He had his arm draped comfortably around her shoulders as he walked with her down the hallway, a sombre expression on his face.]

So... Is there anything you fancy in particular? Beer?

[Why were all his friends smokers or alcoholics?]

((ooc: Obviously for [livejournal.com profile] aheavysmoker))
[identity profile] otaconic.livejournal.com
[With the war and the holidays now over, Otacon had come to the realization that... maybe Philanthropy wasn't needed here. There wasn't really anything he could do to stop the battle from erupting after all. It had been Emma to create the virus that implemented Metal Gear REX II's system, and while he had been aware that another version of himself had uploaded it, he knew there was nothing he could do to help. He wasn't a fighter. Far from it. And there were a handful of brilliant technicians and computer geeks around that didn't require his help.]

[But he knew better than to wallow in self pity. So for once, the good Doctor wasn't seated in his office. He was outside in the Park Room, seated on a bench with his laptop supported on his knees. He didn't have anything to do, so he was solving some simple equations just to keep his brain active.]

If v is the final velocity when the time interval is at its peak, and u is the initial velocity before time reaches its final interval; the final velocity is the initial velocity added to the consistant acceleration multiplied by time interval.

"v = u + a*t"

... [He nods and smiles to himself.] Got that one right again.

[He's made himself a bento box for lunch prior to coming outside; some rice balls -supposedly- that crumbled a bit on his journey here, and a large cup of coffee. He might also have a box of Pocky stowed away in his coat pocket just in case a certain someone decides to come wandering by.]

Everyone has heard the story of Hansel and Gretel. They get sidetracked in a forest and are led to a mysterious looking house made out of gingerbread.

And of course, being that this was a Nexus, similar situations had to apply here.

As it just so happens, that fiesty Ocelot was walking down the hallway, attempting to figure out what to do with the build up of energy inside of him. He stopped abruptly, lifting his head and picked out a scent nearby.

Chocolate.

Immediately, he followed the scent that stopped at a brown door. Seeing as he was named after a feline, curiosity took hold of him and he pushed the door open. Inside the room was a small lane, and at the end of that lane was a house.

A house made out of chocolate.

Baffled and yet allured by the sight, Ocelot had no choice but to step inside and make his way down to the edible home.

You better stop him or join him, or he'll try to eat it by himself.

[Old Dave is out looking for Otacon. He's pretty sure that he's hidden away, working in a computer lab somewhere, so he starts checking the labs on the various floors until he finds him. It's been such a long while since he was in a computer lab that he's not entirely sure if this is even the right place to be looking. Oh, wait- Hal has a laptop, right? That makes him mobile.]

Damn-

[The old man almost forgot about that little fact...but he also knows that the man has to stop and recharge his machine at some point.]

[Something feels very odd today.]

[Otacon feels very very odd. A weird sensation in the back of his mind telling him that it's an important day today. But he can't put his finger on it.]

[He decides to settle that confusion with a trip to the kitchen. He roumages around, noticing that there were a few more sweets in the fridge than usual. Like an entire plate of cupcakes.]

... [He looked around for a moment, and then back to the cupcakes. Totoro cupcakes.]

I wonder why these are in here...

[He really doesn't know it's his birthday.]
[identity profile] otaconic.livejournal.com
[Hey look. It's yet another Otacon. Though it's fair to say this one has been here for a while... but he's been busy, as per usual. Of course, he did take some time away with [livejournal.com profile] auld_serpent, but now his confidence had been boosted, enough to kick start him into gear and finish his Mk. II.]

[He was listening to Ayumi Hamasaki as he worked on his computer, the robot hooked up to said machine. He watched it twitch and twirl, until finally... a big grin graced his face.]

Oh man. I did it!

[He bends over to clasp his hands over his creation, hauling it up in his lap proudly. It whirled about in his lap, showing a mirrored excitement to its creator.]

[He's forgotten what month it is, and also that his birthday is coming up on the 20th. Perhaps subconciously, he knows, but he doesn't seem to be showing any signs of celebrating. Time flew by when Otacon was concerned, so of course, he has no concept what month it is right now.]

[Now that he had finished, however, something dawned on him; Snake didn't need it. But he could still set out to use it as a device to keep tabs on the Nexus, especially considering how there have been a few threats in his lifetime here. He wasn't prepared to let anyone get away with anything anymore, and hopefully would be able to find out information before they decided to actually attack. With the added effects of stealth, no one would be able to detect it, so he should be able to get away with it.]

[Of course, now he's been up for three days straight, so someone might want to grab him a coffee... or sleeping pills.]
[identity profile] otaconic.livejournal.com
[This usually busy Otacon was on one of his rare walks around the Nexus. He wasn't looking for work, or anyone in particular. Even so, he found himself stumbling into a room at random. Like the majority of places in the building, there was nothing particularly special about this room from the outside.]

[When he stepped inside, however, the surroundings of the room changed considerably. Something he recognised instantly. It was his office back in Shadow Moses.]

Wow...

[He took a moment to inspect the computers. His hand ran up along the monitor of his old computer, a sad, reminicing smile on his face. One thing that did seem off, however, was the fact that his office was prestine. Everything was in place. The windows were not smashed.]

[And then a daunting feeling came over him. It twinged in his stomach, familiarity rising, as though he had lived this moment before. He could hear a figure approaching, heavily breathing, and the familiar sound of the cyborg man eerily making his way towards him. Otacon turned on his foot in a flurry, coming face to face with the Ninja. His heart hammered hard in his chest, as he took several awkward steps back, gulping hard.]

Not again--

[With the help of those he trusted (and through the magic of the Nexus), Snake was able to move out of his wheelchair. He hadn't recovered fully, but he had now moved to crutches. There was one little event he had almost forgotten about, however, until [livejournal.com profile] snakenbake had reminded him. of it. It was his birthday.]

[Being locked up inside to recover had put a damper on his surroundings. He had forgotten how to get back out to the Alaska room, and so instead, stumbled on something particlarly ~*~amazing~*~.]

BOX FORT BIRTHDAY!

[A box-fort room. Decorated accordingly, with streamers, balloons, and a direct link to a kitchen filled with "party" food.]

((ooc: Well, I will be taking a hiatus soon due to college and what not, but I completely forgot that it's Snake's birthday (and I assume Liquid's, unless other Snakes/Liquids decide their birthdays are on another day. Have fun regardless.))

[There are quiet little tinkering noises coming from the Philanthropy offices. Little metal clanks and the sound of a screw driver collapsing onto the floor. Not to mention the whirling sound of something that sounded very much like a dentist drill.]

[But don't worry. He hasn't gone crazy yet. He's just working on another one of his crazy inventions.]

The Mk. II. It's been a long time coming, hasn't it little guy?

[He stands up with a grimace, his back sore from being crouched over on the floor for so long. He dumps the little Metal Gear on the table beside his computer and starts linking it up.]

Now all I have to do is hook it up and get it up and running...

[More little mumbles are heard. Quite clearly, the engineer is busying himself with his babies devices but he might also need a distraction before he goes insane.]

[There was an Old Snake boredly wandering around being bored but he's since stopped wandering and has come to rest up against the railing on the second floor. He's leaning over looking down at the first floor lobby from his vantage point. He made a promise to get out more for his own sake but isn't really seeing the benefits of this action so far so he decides to rest here, quietly, until he can decide where to go next.]

[He is happy that the hallway hasn't frozen over. Of course now that thought has spurred him to wonder if he should attempt ice skating again.]

[David is wandering around the Nexus. He's making good on his promise to keep moving and get out more. He has managed to keep off the cigarettes and he's backed off his drinking. He tries to keep his focus on what matters: his family. Currently he's out walking his dog, [livejournal.com profile] youngpupold because Dave figures that they both could use the exercise. Now he just needs to find the Hal that he lost around here...somewhere.]

[After recieving numerous amounts of help from certain members in the Nexus, Otacon had finally managed to prepare a party for all of the Sunnys. He had cleared some space in the Philanthropy offices and removed some computers to spread some food out along the tables. Paper plates and plastic cups, tasty fizzy soda and fruit juice, but no alcohol, Snake, along with numerous amounts of bright, soft and comfortable bean bags and seats to settle into for the guests.]

[There were blue and white balloons ups, and numerous amounts of consoles all splayed out to one corner of the offices, all linked to large monitors, and some Japanese pop songs were playing in the background. The cake, which had thankfully not gone to disaster, was center piece in the middle of the tables; away from the technology, so none of it would get ruined.]

[...He had a lot of help to make it look that good.]

[On the farthest corner of the room was another table where various gifts had been placed; one for each of the Sunnys. He had a good feeling about this day.]

((ooc: Happy Birthday, Sunnys! All are welcome.))
[identity profile] otaconic.livejournal.com
[There's a sneaky Otacon in the kitchen on the first floor. He looks insanely busy, not to mention the pressure he's under right now. It's Sunny's birthday tomorrow, and so he's in the middle of trying his best to bake a cake. The first three failed; one deflated (for using the wrong flour), one caught fire in the oven and the other, he used salt instead of sugar. His fourth attempt would work this time; a nice chocolate cake, so he could use chocolate icing to cover up any burnt parts.]

[He also had a few balloons up, and a couple of presents wrapped up for his 'daughter'. But of course, she wasn't allowed to open those until tomorrow. If you happen to be passing by, you might hear the disgruntled nerd crashing things away in the kitchen frustratedly.]

How the heck are you meant to cook when the cake won't even come out of the tin?!

((ooc: Help or laugh at. ;3))
[identity profile] 0ldsnake.livejournal.com
[Old Snake is pacing before the doors that lead into the FissionMailed Mall. He needs to go in but he doesn't want to admit that he would need an escort. If he goes by himself he'd get annoyed by all the stupid stores and end up heading straight for the food court...as usual. That's the last place he needs to be going since that's one of the things that helped get him into this predicament. He needs new shirts. None of his old ones fit him very well any more. Every single one is a bit too small.]

Hn.

[Maybe he could use some new pants, too. Maybe. Damn it. He hates shopping for himself. He hates shopping in general. This won't be pleasant all by himself and he needs someone he trusts to help him pick out clothes since his idea of snazzy mostly involves anything with camouflage and cargo pockets-]

[Dave is still jonesing for a smoke and a drink. He's been off the poison for a while now and he's really missing it. Snake might be a bit inattentive and cranky, but it's all because of his prior chemical dependency. Not much quenches his desires for the bad stuff but coffee, food and sex and even that stuff he can't have all the time. Oh, the things he'd do for a bottle of Jack, a cigarette or a good lay right now-]
[identity profile] otaconic.livejournal.com
[After being confronted by a dead Nastasha, Otacon was wary as to how he should approach the matter of the Evil Cobra unit, and so he decided to hold a meeting with other Philanthropy members. He paces back and fourth the offices, massaging his eyes.]

We have at least a vague idea of just what they are capable of. I'm not sure what their motives are exactly, but it's not something I want to delve into too deeply. I guess some people are sadistic enough to enjoy death.

[He shakes his head.] We need to conjure a plan and figure out a way to stop them. Again. I don't think Mei-Ling's ship is going to work. Killing them in turn is only gonna spiral into further problems and constant battle.

[Otacon slides his glasses back onto his face.] Using CQC and tranquilizers will surpress them enough to remove their weapons and maybe allowing time for them to be interogated, but I'm not so sure they'll talk.
[identity profile] otaconic.livejournal.com
[A familiar voice can be heard across the overhead speakers.]

Uh... Snake? Um... All Snakes, including the Big Boss's... And Nastasha.

I've found something amazing! A healthy alternative to smoking. And I mean it; it really works. They take form of cigarettes or cigars, and they have a range of flavors that you can choose for your liking.

I've managed to track down a bunch of boxes in this Nexus. They're all packed up in the Philanthropy offices. You'll all need to come by if you want to exchange your bad habits for better ones. No second hand smoke, no danger of getting cancer or damaging your insides... These are the next best thing!
[identity profile] otaconic.livejournal.com
[There is an Otacon busying himself in one of the kitchens. He has an inner instinct to stop his work for a while, just to be out of the office. He was making quite a bit of noise, as he clattered some bowls and cutlery around.]

[On closer inspection, you might be able to tell he was making some sort of pastry. But it wasn't any old pastry - Rugelach cookies. He was mixing all the ingrediants together, and created something that was supposed to resemble this, but ended up turning out like this. Filled with cinnamon, raisins and sticky sugar, they looked decent for a rare attempt.]

[He was currently waiting for them to cool on the counter as he cleaned up the mess he had made. If you're lucky, you might be able to nab one for yourself.]
[identity profile] otaconic.livejournal.com
[As of effective immediately, Otacon has been assigned to fixing [livejournal.com profile] endlesswarfare's computer. He couldn't quite believe just how much the system had been screwed up, and none of the programs wanted to work as they had been asigned to. Everything looked like a mess, like technological diarrhea, and he wasn't so sure that he would be able to fix something so royally fucked.]

Big Boss, sir. Just exactly how the hell did you manage to do this? This... This is even worse than a regular coffee spillage. It's like you poured toxic waste all over the CPU! And these errors are really starting to disturb me.

... Is..

Is that SMOKE?!

~One Week of Sins - Day 4~

[When you wake up this morning, you have a desire to look at yourself in the mirror. You are not happy with what you see. You think of other people around you, hating how much better they look in comparison to you. Or maybe it's simply down to something that they have that you secretly want. Or you are perhaps jealous of a certain individual. Whatever it may be, you are not happy with the way your life is headed. You feel a sense of envy, hating that you feel everyone is superior to you.]

[A wave of unhappy envy passes through the Nexus.]

~One Week of Sins - Day 3~

[Today, you are beginning to feel a little selfish and devious. Thankfully, not for sex, neither for food, but more in the case of possessions. You are craving the desire to hoard all things expensive, and all things of worth. You are forgetting that nothing in this Nexus is worth anything at all, and believe you are going to be the richest person here if you claim things for yourself.]

[You will do anything and everything in your power to get everything you want, no matter how you chose to do this. Whether or not it is through bribery, stealing or violence. You might even manipulate situations to get something you want.]

[You've become greedy.]

~One Week of Sins - Day 2~

[Once again, there seems to be another disturbance in the air today. It's not known what the causes are, but you're starting to feel something tighten in your stomach. Hunger pains. A desire to eat.]

[You're in luck. On every single floor, in every single apartment room, there is a table laden with rich, expensive food. Everything to your liking, everything that makes your mouth water with all the food piled around you. Once you eat it, you'll find it very difficult giving up. You will want more and more, no matter how hard you try to resist the temptation. What's worse: you won't fill up on just one portion. Or a second. Or a third.]

[It seems you are starting to feel rather gluttonous.]

[This Otacon was bumbling about in his office on the 6th floor, busily at his desk with his several computers in front of him. With a combination of Naomi's exceptional knowledge and his own smarts, he was attempting to derive a plan in which would prevent Snakes from aging - or at least, negating the effects of the nanomachines in the already-aged soldiers. He had gained a huge confidence boost, due to the positivity of Philanthropy; it had never felt so bustling as it did here. And of course, with the arival of his sister, he hadn't felt happier in his life. He had a complete family now; something he never thought he would recieve, never did he believe he deserved it.]

[Otacon wasn't as good as Naomi - or Sunny for that matter - at compiling intricate data when it came to the nature of biology and science of the human body. He was only just managing to get his head around the psychology of human beings, never mind structuring a serum of sorts to negate a human virus. It was like asking a mathematician to cure cancer. It wasn't something that could be created over night.]

[He was reading up on how nanotechnology could be used to negate things such as disease and cancers. Maybe applying the knowledge that he was gaining to the nanomachines might work. Of course, finding a willing Snake was going to be difficult. Most of them were untrusting of any type of serum or injections, which was understandable. Naomi had broken their trust, after all... But Otacon wanted so badly to change the way things were.]

[He had printed out more notes for Naomi, knowing that the information he had stored was valuable. He could use the help, however~ So if you happen to be walking by the Philanthropy offices, you're welcome to encourage him to have some coffee, or maybe catch some shut eye. He's done an all nighter again, after all.]

[After an encounter with Hal, Wolf has came back into the nexus. She is heading to the kitchen to make a traditional Kurdish recipe. Chicken Tawa. This seems to be a favourite of the Nexus residents so maybe some will drop in...]

[She loops the strap of her gun around the back of a chair and takes her jacket off. She has a tank top underneath, no boobs on show for once!]

Okay... I'll go search around for some ingredients, do you some coffee or tea?

((For Otaconic, but since it's a kitchen you are free to drop in.))

[There was an unmistakably new room that had been discovered deep deep down in the basement. Otacon had gone down to do some washing - and maybe to pinch a few new pairs of trousers - when there was a loud noise that beckoned him towards the southern region of the basement. Curiosity got the better of him, and he found a door, which... inevitably... turned out to being a pretty damn awesome room.]

[Inside - or rather outside - was a huge park, with traditional fairground rides, typically a carnival atmosphere. lots of crazy types of rides, and seemingly a perfect place for a date. The amount of food stalls stowed around the wide scope of land bewildered Hal, but he could feel a giddy excitement surging through him. Loud music was blaring overhead, and the rich aroma of food and sweets was thick in the air.]

[Into the room he went! And he's left the door open too, wanting to share his excitement with anyone else that wants to come along.]
