[Otacon is feeling the pressure of the war that has overtaken the Nexus. He feels there is only one thing that can truly be done to settle this.]

[It feels weird to call out something he created... A nuclear weapon. But if he could adjust the mechanical creation, surely there was a way to maintain peace, without needing to kill anyone.]

[Not that death even mattered here. War was pointless. Why it had been brought down to this went over Hal's head entirely.]

[No one else was trying to maintain peace. No-one. That was what saddened him the most. It seemed as though he was going to have to rise above the situation and take matters into his own hands.]

[He removed his glasses, just enough to rub at his eyes tiredly.] You haven't seen a huge robot around here by any chance, have you?

It's more of a relief that I'm not the only one who thinks this entire thing is crazy.

[She smiles back.] I've come across a few actually. There were two in the movie theater a few days ago. One a machine wolf looking for it's mother, and the other was... that one, with the skinny legs, and it doesn't speak like the others do. Then there's RAY, and that other one, that let me ride inside it-- that was pretty neat.

[Mei Ling isn't particularly anxious to fight either, so she feels particularly relieved to find a familiar non-combatant wandering around.]

[That always seems to formal to Hal. He retired after the Manhattan incident, and so... 'Dr. Emmerich' was no longer in use.]

[Even so, he smiled politely at Pain, bowing his head slightly.] Hey... Pain, wasn't it?

I'm attempting to create a diversion. Something to prevent the raging wars between both sides of the Nexus. I'm... really concerned.

[After leaving the Forest Room, with an improved mood, he hears some rumors here and there that someone wants to take a stand against that pointeless fight.

And, he's more than glad to know that. He thinks it's wonderful that someone is actually trying to protect the people there, somehow.

He looks for the man. Hal... He never heard of the man, but he already feels a type of 'sympathy' for him, simply because he's doing something no one dared to.

After wandering around a little, he finally comes across Hal. The man probably doesn't know him, but he just has to show his appreciation.]

[Equally so, Hal has only met one of the Cobra unit members. The older man doesn't look familiar, but he has a very strange inkling that they might get on.]

[He can feel the elder watching him, and he feels a slow smile appear on his face once he is complimented.]

I hope you aren't being sarcastic... I like to think what I have in mind might work, at least.
