It's the day the Declaration of Independence was signed, making America an independent state, instead of belonging to Great Britain. Some historians believe that the Declaration of Independence was signed on a different day than the Fourth, but generally, today is when American's celebrate the birthday of their country.

Not true, everyone can celebrate it! There's food, games, and at the end of the day, fireworks. You don't have to be an American to enjoy those things.
