[After having a recent encounter with Wolf, Hal has quite happily agreed to spend the day with her for her birthday. They had settled on creating some origami together.

He had busily found some supplies in his office, a little excited at the prospect of being able to spend time with Wolf -- No. Esme; as two individuals, and not the pawns they once were.

His heart lifted gratefully as he approached the lounge, his eyes glinting beneath his glasses. He stumbled towards the couch, resting the numerous amounts of supplies down on the table, before taking his seat down beside Wolf.]

So... How does this work again?

[Sighs] Yeah...

I get really bored at times. I taught myself how to fold boxes.

[Hal pats his knee.] Come on then. Show me how to make a box.

...I'd figure that you'd know how already. [He didn't look up at him just yet.]

Alright...well, you need a perfect square of paper.

Well, I've not had to make boxes since I was in school, Dave--

Right. [He reaches for a piece of paper, pulling it between his fingers. He starts to cut a strip off to create a square.]

... I hope that's good enough. [He laughs.]

Who's fault is that?

It is. Now, turn the sheet over so that the colored side is facing down. Fold it like this- [Snake folds it in half once one way, unfolds it and does it again the other way (http://www.origami-instructions.com/images/box/thumbnails/02-origami-box.jpg).]

[Hal just grins, focusing on the sheet in his hands. He follows through, watching Snake carefully, before copying the technique himself.]

I think I'm getting hang of it.

[He continues to watch Dave, making sure to follow his every move.]

-then fold the four corners of the paper into its center. Then fold the right edge and the left edge into the center line (http://www.origami-instructions.com/images/box/thumbnails/03-origami-box.jpg). Now fold the top edge down and the bottom edge up (http://www.origami-instructions.com/images/box/thumbnails/05-origami-box.jpg).

Uh huh... [Otacon's dexterous fingers work on the paper, carefully doing as he was told. He folds the edges to the center and then the top and bottom edges.]

[It looks like a near replica to Snakes.]

Good. [He nods.]

Then~ you unfold all that to about here (http://www.origami-instructions.com/images/box/thumbnails/07-origami-box.jpg) then you can start folding in the sides, like a box (http://www.origami-instructions.com/images/box/thumbnails/08-origami-box.jpg). It really gets self-explanatory from this point on (http://www.origami-instructions.com/images/box/thumbnails/10-origami-box.jpg).

[Hal has little to no trouble trying to re-create Dave's box. He watches him first, and then takes it into his own hands to create it himself. He works the box together, carefully folding, until he finally brings it into a box.]

Hey, look at that. It actually worked!

[He smirks a little as he finishes his own box.]

[Hal rests his one on his lap, smiling warmly.]

You said you had quite a few of them around... What do you do with them all?

Hnn...I just stack them up on the dresser. Why, you need some?

No, I don't need them... Though I bet if you made bigger ones, they'd be useful for stacking things away in.

[Snake rubs his chin. He may just have to attempt that one.]

Yeah, I should think so. It'll keep things less cluttered, too.

[He picks up Dave's little box, aligning them both together.]

I've never been a fan of clutter. Can't stand it.

[He watches Hal fiddle with the boxes.]

[He touched his glasses lightly, before holding the boxes up with his palms.] Mind if I keep your one?

Heh. You are pretty messy when you really get into your work.

[He glances at his box then at Hal.] Yeah. Sure. If you really want?

I like to call it 'organized mess'. Not all of us have soldier instinct to clean up everything precisely.

[He smiles at that.] Thanks. I'll keep it as a reminder to try and be more organized from now on.
