Origami~
[After having a recent encounter with Wolf, Hal has quite happily agreed to spend the day with her for her birthday. They had settled on creating some origami together.
He had busily found some supplies in his office, a little excited at the prospect of being able to spend time with Wolf -- No. Esme; as two individuals, and not the pawns they once were.
His heart lifted gratefully as he approached the lounge, his eyes glinting beneath his glasses. He stumbled towards the couch, resting the numerous amounts of supplies down on the table, before taking his seat down beside Wolf.]
So... How does this work again?
[ooc: :3 Origami! Open to everyone. Come by if you want Wolf to teach you how to make origami.]

Mr. Hal, what ya doing?

Hey, Adrian. We're making something called origami; Little paper models into shapes of animals.
[He thinks it might be too fiddly for the child, and so he reaches forward to find a few pens and some paper.]
You're welcome to try, or you can do some drawing instead.

Thanks!
[proceeds to draw....something....]

What are you drawing?
no subject
A mean person...
[it is a crudely drawn image of Fortune with devil horns]
no subject
[He peers at the picture, frowning slightly.]
[It looks familiar, minus the horns of course--]
Well, that's the best way to get anger out. Drawing it, or being creative.

Well, it depends on what you want to make first. I started off with an open top box which is easy enough.
[she reachers over for some paper and a pair of scissors. Taking the scissors in her left hand, she gestured towards the paper.]
First off we need to make out paper into a square. With rectangular paper we just fold it over into a triangle like so...
[She folded the paper until it was like this (http://www.netflixorigami.com/img/box_01.jpg).]
Once you do that then cut the excess off and you are left with a square piece of paper.
[She makes a swift cut along the paper.]
Start off with that.
no subject
Uh... Like this?
[He held up the paper, hoping it was good enough.]
I haven't folded a box in ages...
It's looking great so far, any time when you have to make a cut it has to be perfectly straight. So always concentrate on the cutting. Now to the next step!
[Wolf unfolded the paper and smoothed it out. She lent over the table and rubbed along it pretty throughly.]
Now we have it flat again, we'll have to pull each corner into the center. This will make the bottom of the box so make sure it meets perfectly.
[She goes over it slowly so Hal can keep up. She knew it was frustrating when people went over things too quickly. Taking care, she took each corner of paper and slowly put it into place. One of the corners was slightly off so she pulled it back and realigned it. After she had put each piece into place she smoothed it out again.]
Make sure each piece is in place before smoothing it out. Sometimes the paper will shift and misalign so be careful when smoothing out. Now you try.
[She smiled brightly]
XD Me either
Okay; alaways straight. I'll keep that in mind.
[He watched her hunch forward to the table, keeping an eye on what she was doing. He immitated her, leaning forward and copied her actions precisely, thankful for her patience. He aligned each section and began to turn the corners over, smoothing them with his palm.]
Hey, I think I'm getting the hang of this. [He laughed sheepishly.]

Okay, the next part is pretty tricky to explain so please just watch carefully to see what you have to do.
[Wolf makes a few more folds, folding the paper into thirds. She flattens it again and unfolds the paper, pushing in some corners she then creates an ocatagon shape]
Am I going too quickly?
no subject
I think I've got it. Slowly...
[He eases the corners in gently, just as Wolf was doing in the hopes that he was doing it right.]
[He misses a corner, frowning when it doesn't quite go properly as expected.] Uh... On second thoughts--

I brought you up to where I am at now. Nothing to worry over.
no subject
R-Right.
Thanks...
[He blushes timidly, offering her a smile in turn.]

I get really bored at times. I taught myself how to fold boxes.
no subject
Really, that's not surprising...
[Hal pats his knee.] Come on then. Show me how to make a box.
no subject
Alright...well, you need a perfect square of paper.
no subject
Right. [He reaches for a piece of paper, pulling it between his fingers. He starts to cut a strip off to create a square.]
... I hope that's good enough. [He laughs.]
no subject
It is. Now, turn the sheet over so that the colored side is facing down. Fold it like this- [Snake folds it in half once one way, unfolds it and does it again the other way (http://www.origami-instructions.com/images/box/thumbnails/02-origami-box.jpg).]

I think I'm getting hang of it.
[He continues to watch Dave, making sure to follow his every move.]

When she sees what Otacon is working on, she becomes very interested.]
Is that... origami?
no subject
Hey, Para.
--Yeah! Are you a fan of it? [He is busy working on one himself, attempting to make it look half-decent with what little knowledge he has.]
oh crap, sorry for the long wait. i thought i replied to this!
Anything dealing with Japan interests me, honestly! I never really learned how to do origami though. You look like you're pretty good at it!
