A Family Reunion

[There's a small robot zooming around looking for a particularly smily Solid Snake. Otacon has an offer to give him, after all. After much persuasion, Liquid had reluctantly agreed to it. While Liquid and Sunny wandered the house, he focused on sending the tiny robot off in search of the other man. He had to be somewhere.]

! Target sighted. Initiating contact.

[Perhaps Solid would notice the soft voice. Otacon didn't mind if he did. Instead, he simply skidded the robot forwards, circling it around Solid's feet quickly before doing a little dance in front of him. The video screen opened to reveal Otacon's rather nervous face.]

Snake. I have something for you.

[Solid looks a bit startled at the entire spectacle, but he smiles good naturedly.]

Hal? What's going on? I've never seen a robot like that before...

Ah, this is Metal Gear MK4. Of course, it's not an actual Metal Gear.

[He adjusted his glasses, smiling a little.]

Now, I have something for you.

[The robot opened the compartment and drew out an envelope with his wire, offering it to him. It was an invitation to dinner with the family, with instructions on how to get there.]

It's cute...

[He takes the envelope and opens it, reading the contents. He looks surprised and happy.]

Really? Yes, I'd be glad to come! Should I bring anything?

[He's never had a family dinner before...He seems a bit lost as to what the protocol is.]

Isn't it? [It twirled, doing a little wriggly dance.] No, that's not neccessary. Just be warned that none of us are really great cooks.

[He laughed a little.]

It's all up to James and his recipe book, actually. Just be prepared for fireworks.

[He chuckles a bit.] Well, if Brother needs help, I might be able to lend a hand...

[He glances over the invitation again.]

I don't think I've met Sunny or Emma...What are they like?

Ah, well, Sunny's a [-tykebomb-] genius little girl. She's a tiny bit shy, but don't anger her too much. Don't smoke in the house, whatever you do. She'll bash your knees with her frying pan. Emma... well, she's not at home just now, but we're hoping she'll come in by the time you get there. She's my sister. She's very nice. You'll like her, I think.

A frying pan? [Sounds like Brother's, all right.] I'll be sure not to smoke, then. I hope I get to meet Emma too.

[He grin and checks the time.]

I guess I'll see you guys soon~ I'd better go get washed up...

I'll see you there!

[Another little twirl and the robot zooms off.]

[Solshine's looking a bit nervous as he arrives at the address. He'd opted to go casual and had stopped by another room to pick up a few small cakes (http://www.bakedecoratecelebrate.com/images/projects/germanchocolatecake/germanchocolatecake.jpg) for dessert.]

[Just in case.]

[Hal was probably kidding around with the "fireworks" comment.]

[He knocks on the door.]

[When the door opens there's a little girl poking her head out at you. She's been excited all day at having people come over for dinner, but now that people were here, she was feeling a little shy. Especially because this guy looked like the guy who kidnapped her >: ]

H-hello...

Hello! You must be Sunny~

[Solshine smiles at her and offers her the box of cakes.]

I hope your Uncles don't mind that I brought something...

Y-y-yeah, that's me.

[She stares at him. He looks nicer than the other Snake but she still didn't trust him. Better not threaten her family, Solshine, because you'll be getting a frying pan to the knees. And- Ooh! Cakes!]

W-what kind are they?

[She reached up, taking the box carefully, trying to peek inside.]

They're chocolate~

[He whispers, as if letting her in on a secret.] I really like chocolate cake! How about you?

Oooh.

[Sunny did indeed like chocolate. Alright, she supposes she'll give you a chance.]

Y-y-yeah, I like it too~

[He grins. Mission accomplished! Maybe this dinner wouldn't be so awkward after all~]

What do you say we go inside and see if your Uncles like them? I don't know what flavors they liked best, do you?

[She nodded and opened the door wider for Solshine to come through, grinning a little.]

W-we don't eat cake much here. Uncle Liquid says they're bad for you.

[He steps inside, noting the homey environment. It's rather...nice.]

Well, I think a little cake every once in a while isn't too bad for you~ That's why cakes are for special occasions~

[He toes his shoes off and looks about, wondering where Brother and Hal were.]

Y-yeah!

[Sunny ran into the room.]

Uncle Haaaaaaal. Uncle Liquiiiiiid. N-Not-scary Snake is here!

[He laughed, coming out of the kitchen where he'd been talking with Liquid. The living room wasn't quite as messy as usual, but it still had a few things he needed to transfer to the lab scattered around. It was a rather pleasant room, lightly coloured and with plenty of room to move around.]

Hey.

[And here was a Liquid, sticking his head out of the kitchen. Because cooking was serious goddamn business.]

Hello, brother.

[And back to the kitchen the ever-so-social Liquid went.]

[Happily, Sunny trotted into the kitchen.]

H-He brought cakes!

[She announced as if this was the highlight of the evening. 8D ]

[Solshine smiles happily, still a bit nervous.]

Hello Hal, hello Brother...

I...ah, just brought a little something, as a thank-you...

That was nice of you! You didn't need to, but thanks.

[He leant over to whisper.]

Don't mind James. He's always like this.

You mean cranky?

[He gives a small smile and keeps his voice low.]

I was hoping Sunny would like them. Chocolate cake in exchange for the safety of my knees, y'know.

It's good to see you again, Hal. I like your guy's place.

[He laughed softly.]

Precisely. Such a charming man. I do love him to pieces, though.

[A slight pause before he grinned.]

I'm sure it worked just fine. She seems to like you. I was worried, because of what the other Snake did to her, but...

[He shrugged lightly.]

It's good to see you too, Snake.
