A Family Reunion

[There's a small robot zooming around looking for a particularly smily Solid Snake. Otacon has an offer to give him, after all. After much persuasion, Liquid had reluctantly agreed to it. While Liquid and Sunny wandered the house, he focused on sending the tiny robot off in search of the other man. He had to be somewhere.]

! Target sighted. Initiating contact.

[Perhaps Solid would notice the soft voice. Otacon didn't mind if he did. Instead, he simply skidded the robot forwards, circling it around Solid's feet quickly before doing a little dance in front of him. The video screen opened to reveal Otacon's rather nervous face.]

Snake. I have something for you.

[A little over a half-hour later, Solid sticks his head out of the kitchen.]

Food's ready...Where did you guys want to eat?

[Liquid will just be not-sulking over here.]

Oh, here's fine. I'll just clear off the table.

[He quickly removed the few bits of operatus on the table, swung on a tablecloth and sent Sunny to fetch the cutlery.]

[He vanishes back into the kitchen and reappears with curry and rice in serving bowls. He sets them on the table, dodging a Sunny as he does.]

[He laughed a little, sitting at the table.]

James, come on.

[Scowling, he walked over and sat next to Otacon.]

[Solid sits next to Sunny, who sits opposite from Hal, leaving James stuck looking at his brother all meal. He grins a bit nervously.]

I don't cook much, but Master was determined to have me capable of making decent curry. I hope this stuff turned out okay.

Y-you have a master?

[Sunny sat up on her knees in her chair, the table being a little too tall for her yet.]

I-i-it looks yummy!

Yeah, Master Miller. He pretty much raised me in my world.

[He grins at her.]

I'm glad you think so, but we'll have to see if it tastes as good as it looks...It's only mildly spicy, too. I didn't know if you liked your food hot or not.

[He smiled, glad to see him and Sunny getting along.]

[Guess who just got finished updating the computer systems. With a long, tired sigh, she makes her way back to their home, and opens the door to find the family sitting down at the table already.]

... oh! I, ah... [She blushes just a little, trying to fix her hair just a bit for their guest.] I wasn't expecting dinner to be ready yet. [She nervously smiles at Snake, and hesitantly walks over to sit by her brother, closer to Solid than to Liquid, pretty certain that Liquid is going to need Hal's attention more than hers.]

[She then turns to Solid, smiling a bit more, trying to be friendly. But after all the things she heard, it... might be a tiny bit difficult for her to warm up to him.] I'm afraid we haven't met. I'm Emma. Emma Emmerich.

[He smiles at her, trying to put the cute girl at ease.]

Hal's sister, right? It's good to meet you; I'm Solid Snake.

[He winks at Sunny.]

The not-scary one, evidently.

That's right, I'm Hal's sister. It's nice to meet you too.

[She smiles a little, relaxing almost instantly. He's definitely a lot nicer than the one she remembers, so she'll agree with that statement. And he's being nice to her partner in crime, so, bonus points!]

[She glances over at dinner really quickly, noting that it's certainly not what they normally have for dinner, meaning Solid must have made it. Silently she looks at him with thanks in her eyes, knowing she shouldn't say it out loud. She doesn't want Liquid to get too angry.]

[It's good that both Emma and Sunny seem to be warming themselves to Solid. Otacon was relieved to see it, in truth.]

Since when do Snakes know how to cook?

[Solid laughs a little as he digs in, relieved to find that the dish was good. Not the best curry ever, but palatable.]

Hn...I only know a few dishes and the basics. Master Miller drilled curry into my head especially because it was his favorite dish.
