Birthday Post~

[There's a somewhat disheartened Beauty wandering the hallways. Raven officially turned 21 today... but it didn't seem to matter. She hadn't heard from John for a while now, and although she shouldn't really jump to conclusions... well, she assumed maybe he moved on...? She didn't know how breakups worked. She'd never been broken up with before. She tried to tell herself that he was probably just really busy, but she was running out of excuses for him.]

[Sighing, she passes a room with the door slightly ajar. Backtracking, she peers inside. She can see small tables and a dancefloor, along with longer tables holding food and drink. Upon walking inside she finds herself in a black dress and heels, her hair no longer in the usual ponytail but falling freely down her back, curled slightly. She can't help but smile when she sees the large banner at the back of the room that reads "Happy 21st Birthday, Raven!". At least the Nexus didn't forget...]

((PARTY AGAIN. You don't have to change clothing upon walking inside, and there are drinks for kids too. Of course, if you're someone Raven doesn't like she'll probably eject you by force. In pieces. And on fire.))

[Rose spotted Vamp at the party and decided to approach him. The dress (http://www.outblush.com/women/images/2008/05/gap-long-tiered-sundress.jpg) that she was wearing exposed her arm where she had been stabbed and thanks to the sped up healing of the Nexus, it wasn't much more than a scar. She wanted to thank him for actually doing a pretty good job stitching her up.]

Hello Vamp.

[It's not Rose's birthday, so she doesn't get a smile. THE FIRST ONE WAS HARD ENOUGH.]

Rose.

[She gestured to her arm.]

Ah, I just wanted to thank you for taking care of me the other day. I don't remember if I thanked you before...

[~~Maybe if she praises him enough for doing good things he'll stop doing bad things!~~ She notices the gloomy look though.]

...Is something wrong?

[Vamp doesn't remember if she thanked him either, but either way he's a little surprised by the friendly approach. He shrugs slightly, briefly eying the scar on her arm.]

No thanks are necessary. [He doesn't respond to the question.]

[She does realize she's being unusually friendly with him, but she is grateful for him taking care of her arm, and she was in a good mood besides.]

Still... and for listening to my problems.

[She raises an eyebrow questioningly at him avoiding the question. Too bad for him Rose is nosy, although she's not really sure she wants to know what got under Vamp's skin..]

[He begins wandering over to one of the tables with food and drinks, not really looking at Rose.]

As I said, no thanks are required.

[Since finishing Raiden off, he hasn't been wanting to drink any blood, thanks to the man's words about his mother. As a result, he's feeling hungry and he needs to find a different way to sate himself.]

[She's surprised by him going over to the food table, not sure if he was just trying to keep up appearances, or if he was actually going to eat something. Either way, something was bothering him, and Rose's need to be a helpful psychologist were winning out over common sense.]

...You're acting strange. What's wrong?

[His eyes scan along the table of food, not sure what he wanted to try. It all looked so... unappealing. How do people force these kinds of things into their mouths so frequently?]

That's hardly any of your business, is it?

[She frowned.]

No, but you helped me. The least I could do is listen if you needed someone to talk to. That's kind of my job anyway, to listen.

...

[She isn't going to leave him alone, is she? Vamp frowns, fingers tapping idly against the table.]

...If you must know, I recently returned from murdering somebody.

[She's surprised, although she really shouldn't be. She shoots him a wary look.]

...Is it someone you didn't want to hurt?

[That's the only way she could explain his upset behavior, considering he didn't look like he was wounded much.]

I'm afraid to ask who it was this time.

No, I very much wanted to hurt him.

[His fingers continue tapping against the surface of the table as he glances at Rose from the corner of his eye.]

He simply brought a few things to my attention that I was unaware of, and would have been perfectly happy to continue that way.

I see...

[The way he was glancing at her unnerved her slightly. Instantly the few things she was still keeping hidden from Vamp came to mind. But why would whoever he had killed mention anything like that? I'm just being paranoid.]

What kind of things? If you want to talk about it, that is...

I don't, actually.

[The fingers stop tapping for a moment as his hand clenches briefly into a fist. He then turns his attention back to the food, eventually grabbing a roll off the table.]

Though I will tell you to watch out if you see that sinister version of Raiden in the next few days. He isn't likely to be in the best of moods.

Alright. I'm not going to press if it's something you don't want to talk about.

[Her eyes widened slightly at mention of Raiden. Hearing that any version of Jack died bothered her but... she knew that the one Vamp was talking about was dangerous... not like the other Jacks.]

So that's who it was... In retaliation for what he did to you?

[He brings the roll up to his mouth and takes a bite, grimacing a bit as he chews it.]

No. The day before he brutally murdered Solidus and left him... pinned to the wall for all to see. It was beyond gruesome. He needed to be taught a lesson.

He did?

[She shivers at the thought of Jack being capable of that kind of thing. If Vamp thought it was beyond gruesome then...]

Are you worried that he's going to get revenge for it?

[That definitely made her nervous. There were plenty of people close to Vamp that Rose cared about.]

He did.

[A minute later, Vamp tosses the roll in the trash. Who is he kidding?]

He promised he would. I told him there was nobody I loved and I hardly cared if he killed anyone as they would be back in three days.

I think he believed me. I hope to keep this between the two of us. I'm not worried about myself.

I hope so to. Not... that I want you to get murdered, but I hope he doesn't drag people who aren't related to your feud in it.

Considering what he did to Solidus I... don't think I would put it past him.

He's had his own feud with Solidus. That was unrelated.

[Though Vamp is staying collected about it, the thought of Raiden going after people he considers close to him is worrying. The other Raiden had said he knew about Scott...]

Regardless, I doubt you need worry for yourself.

[And he's not going to mention that that Raiden is after ~~sparkly~~ Jack.]

[She frowned, that didn't make her feel much better really.]

I'm not worried about myself. I'm more worried about Jack or Raven.

...

[A moment's hesitation is all that reveals his shared worry about the situation.]

I've been keeping an eye on Jack. Raven should be able to take care of herself.

[He hopes.]

[His hesitation makes her look more nervous about it.]

Have you warned Raven about it anyway? If he surprises her...

Do... you think he would go after other versions of Jack other than the one that you're ~~sleeping with~~ watching over?

This is the first I've seen of her since. I intend to warn her shortly.

[Vamp's eyes wander over to Raven, softening slightly as he observes how beautiful and graceful she appeared in that black dress. Twenty-one... she's so young.]

...No, I don't believe he would. Just the one.

I know she's a fighter and is probably more than capable of taking care of herself but... I still would hate to see anything happen to her. I have gotten quite attached to some of the members of the B&B it seems...

[Her eyes stared at nothing in particular, thinking about the household she had left. She was happy with Jack but... it was never easy to hurt people she cared about.]

And I don't need to tell you that the idea of him going after any version of Jack makes me scared to death.
