[That single eye that remained in his skull focused on Fox once he took a step back and composed himself. He stood proudly as he witnessed the way the younger man carried himself. A little reassurance went a very long way when it came to the trust between them both. He couldn't help but smile crookedly, noting the similarities between them both and how strongly his presence had effected Frank in his upbringing.]

[He bowed his head into a genuine nod.]

I know. And I will, once the time is right.

[With the pledge of his life accepted, Fox returns his machete to the casing on his side before bringing himself down on one knee, bowing his head in respect.]

I do and to fall by your side will be the greatest honour.

[He lifts his head to look at his father once more, his hair falling in his eyes. Big Boss is still holding his bandanna.]

Come now, Frank. You'll make me blush.

[He chuckled, but understood that it was Fox's way of expression his gratitude for working under Big Boss. He gently eased the bandanna around Fox's head once more, carefully adjusting his hair into place.]

We are equals, Frank. I won't use you to simply let you die. I expect you to excel and become stronger than myself.

Whatever task I set, you will accomplish.

[Fox closes his eyes a moment, allowing Big Boss to tie the bandanna around his forehead. A sense of peace washes over him, leaning slightly into the older man's touch.]

I still have quite a way to go until I am your equal... But I will continue to make you proud.
