[He clasps his hands tightly around both objects, stowing them in his pocket securely.]

[He suspected as much, but it didn't hurt to ask.]

[Big Boss beckoned Snake to follow him to one of his various offices. He pushed open the door, pointing inside.]

Come inside, Snake.

[He follows him with some reluctance, wondering what the old man wants with him now.]

[Big Boss steps inside without another moment and closes the door behind him. He wanders into another room just off the junction of the door and roumages around for something.]

[He returns after a few minutes with a uniform in his hands, and what looks like a few boxes of rations. He hands them all to Snake.]

You'll wear this from now on, and you will eat three meals a day.

You will also get rid of that collar. It doesn't suit you.

[He takes what he's been given and offers no backsass but one thing-]

I can't take off the collar. It doesn't come off.

[And it's true. It's indestructible and has no snaps or buckles. Blame the Nexus.]

[He stares at him, perplexed.]

Don't you think that I have tried? Nno, it doesn't come off. Nothing works. The only thing I have not tried was a HF blade or a chainsaw but I rather not risk cutting off my head.

...Now that I think about it...that may be the only way to get it off.

I don't know why I have it or what it means. It's just there and, for the most part, I just ignore it.

... [Big Boss smiles at the defiance in Snake's voice. He's starting to find it amusing how he has a collar stuck around his neck.]

Perhaps the Nexus is trying to tell you something.

[He sighs as he mentally kicks himself for asking. It's as if he wanted to be commanded as such, but Snake's conscious mind won't let him believe that just yet. He sits. It was more of a squat but, close enough.]

[He roumaged in his pocket, wondering if there might be some form of food to offer, if only to extend the amusing situation out further.]

[You know that won't be very nice to witness. Big Boss has a heavy foot. He could give long lasting damage should any form of body fluid touch his person.]

[Snake knows this. He already has an injury to nurse; he does not want another.]

[He stands up with an accompanying wince and a groan, forcing himself to stand straight.]

[Big Boss notices that wince and the near inability to stand properly. He tilts his head, glancing down at Snake's stomach.]

[He reaches for his shirt, tugging it up to inspect the bruising.]

[He doesn't breathe a word, but his whole belly, as barren as it is is red and it appears he might have some busted ribs. It's difficult to say how his insides are faring without an MRI or ultrasound...]

[Big Boss ran his hand along his stomach, oddly patient and not at all encouraging pain. He felt for broken ribs. One definitely seemed out of place.]

[He doesn't dare move. If he were to he would hurt himself just by shifting, and if not that, he's afraid he would somehow agitate Big Boss into injuring him further.]

[He removed his hand once he had finished inspecting, tugging down Snake's shirt once more.]
