The minute he says that, Jane's stomach starts doing twists and turns she never even imagined they could do. That woman had created him from his father's genes, cloned him, caused him to feel like he was never good enough, but here he was admitting he loved her.

Besides the weird feeling in her stomach, a smile slowly moved along her face. It was gentle, understanding. She may have not felt the same way towards him, but she certainly very much liked him, even if it wasn't romantic.

"I don't know what to say," she says softly. She knows it was hard for him to even admit that to himself and she was very flattered that he even told her aloud. "I know it took a lot for you to say that. Even if I don't feel the same way," her hand reaches out to gently touch his cheek. "You know I care a great deal for you, right?"
