[This Snake has not been feeling so fantastic. His head has been feeling pretty pressured by whatever the hell it was that had poisened the air.]

[All he knew was that his body was really hot, and he had a temperature. Not to mention... he was suddenly pretty damn sensitive. But because he was so stubborn, he wasn't going to give into the demands of his body. He hadn't been into much contact with anyone, really, and prefered it to stay that way. At least... until this died down.]

[So he had decided to hide away in the box room. Probably not the best solution, but it wasn't like he had a specific room to sleep in, let alone hide away.]

_{Maybe I should have gone somewhere colder.}

[Ah well. At least the compact safety-space of the box was keeping his mind from wandering.]

Hnhnn, why should I help you when you're the one who created this mess?

[Snake spluttered as he peered through a cloud of smoke, noticing the light of the door closeby.]

I DID NOT EVEN KNOW YOU ARE IN HERE, REALLY!

IF I HAVE KNOW I WOULD NOT HAVE SET BOXES ON FIRE!

[He feels the need to shout, as if he can't see Snake, then he must be really, really far away.]

[There's an awful, tingly sensation deep within the pit of Snake's chest as he approaches the exit.]

[That feeling holds him back from actually leaving.]

... Bastard.

[Four years ago, Snake would have left him to die in his own mess, but with the softness of Otacon's persona rubbing off on him, Snake felt the need to go back and find Alek.]

[He waves quickly, even though the smoke might make it hard to see that, and starts walking in what seems to be the direction of Snake's voice.]

[Snake growls a little as he wades through the boxes and smoke, attempting to find Alek. His eyes slanted as though trying to see if he could detect the man, and when he saw the faint shake of a hand, he began to approach him.]

Hurry up. [He reached his hand out.]

RIGHT!

[He grabs Snake's hand gratefully- the last Snake that caught him messing with boxes shot him in the arm.]

[Oh that will come afterwards, don't you worry. Snake isn't ready to forgive Alek for being an ass.]

...

[He leads Alek through the smoke, coughing as he goes, and wincing as the thick cloud gets into his eyes. He manages to find the exit again after minutes of wandering back through the boxes. He pushes Alek out first.]

[He stumbles out of the room ahead of Snake, also coughing and rubbing his stinging eyes.]

Oh, wow, close one, right?

[He laughs nervously as he watches Snake in the entrance to the room.]

[Snake is almost ready to tackle Alek to the ground and give him what he deserved for destroying those beautiful boxes. Not to mention ALMOST HAVING THEM KILLED.]

[But he moves quickly down the hallway to find a fire extinguisher, hauling it along as he coughs from the inhaled smoke.]

[He pulls the hose out and attempts to extinguish the fire inside the room, giving the other man the silent treatment.]

[Since he hasn't been tackled to the ground and given what he deserved yet, he decides to follow Snake and watch him try to extinguish the fire.]

[Well, no matter what, at least he knows that no one's going to be using those boxes again any time soon. The thought fills him with peace.]

[Only when the fire has died down do the sprinklers decide to turn on.]

...

[Sods law.]

[Snake watches the smoke slowly disappearing under the water, and he stares at Alek. He looks pissed.]

(He smiles faintly, pretending to be relieved when the fire is out. But when he sees the look on Snake's face, he decides that it's probably time to get going.)

Well, this were fun. We can do it again sometime!

(He turns around and makes a run for it.)

[Snake is not going to let him get away that easily.]

[He reaches forward to grab Alek's shoulder and yanks him back, pinning his shoulder to the wall.]

(His eyes widen suddenly.)

[Snake's hand drifts up to grab at the scruff of Alek's shirt, fisting there. His knee moved to press against the other's thigh, eyes slanted.]

You think I care about what you want? You started a fight with me when I arrived here for simply standing in the hallway, and yet you think it's okay to set fire to a room.

Yes, and I get in trouble for it!

(He nods his head, trying to bring Snake's attention to the bruises on his face and healing broken nose.)

The boxes are something I just have want set fire to for long while!

[Snake offered a low growl, staring at Alek with defiant eyes. He did notice the brusing--]

Did you think to check for people inside before you acted like a moron?

Look there were so many box, how I am suppose to guess where you are?

(He glares back, his fear turning into anger at being called a moron. He doen't think it's his fault that Snakes have this weird box obssession. )

[Snake breathes out a harsh breath. It's a little warm, like his face is starting to feel.]

[He reluctantly pulls back, turning his head away.] The damage is done now.

(He exhales quietly in relief, hardly able to believe his luck.)

Do not worry, next time I shout loudly for warning.

(He pats Snake's shoulder, smiling slightly.)

[His poor precious boxes! They couldn't survive another blast like that.]

... [He winces slightly with the pat, breathing in quietly, not admitting that the touch made his shoulder heat up. He lets his hand drop from Alek's shirt, staring tentatively.]

(He smirks and pats him again, not yet noticing the effects.)

[Snake shifts his shoulder gingerly, a brow arching slowly. He won't give in to the weakness his body is feeling right now.]

Alek, huh?

[Damn. Now he had to find a new room to hide in.]
