Snowball fight, anyone? 8D
[James has been getting antsy and so, even though he's been warned that going into random rooms is dangerous, he's eager to take on any challenge today. Energetically, he flings open a random, seemingly normal door, and enters a room, temporarily blinded by a cold gust that suddenly kicks up snow.]
[Once the initial wind dies down, James finds himself in a pure white snowy field. It's nearly immaculate, fresh and untouched. There's an old log cabin off to the side and on its porch stands some kind of weaponry that James has never seen before. Very curious now, he rushes towards it, and starts to hear an interesting whirring sound...]
[... before he gets hit right in the stomach with a snowball, nearly losing his breath at the hard impact. He doesn't notice the TARGETS HIT: 0/3 counter above his head, either...]
((Welcome to the SNOWBALL FIGHT room! You must hit three people with snowballs in order to leave. :3 There are special snowball-shooting weapons stored in the log cabin if you can reach it... as for what kinds of weapons they are, I leave that up to you. :3))

[In his world, it was David who went MIA in Iraq, and James was yoinked here just in the middle of Operation Get Stupidbrother Back.]
Uh...
[The Shrimpyquid may be looking a bit sick and glum, now.]
no subject
S-Sorry...I shouldn't have brought that up, I guess...
no subject
[Think think think. Well, it's not like telling him this would harm David in any way - Not while they were stuck in the Nexus, anyway.]
In my world, it was David who went MIA in Iraq.

[Hal could hardly stand the thought of either Snake getting into that sort of situation.]

[Inner raaaage. He still would never had known that his brother was alive if it wasn't for a...certain person overhearing things, and then telling him about them, despite the rather real risks involved.]
no subject
Can anything be done?

[Arranging an end run around Father Dearest had been the most difficult part, actually - He couldn't trust him worth a damn, at that point.]
[Thank goodness Father had been distracted by many things at the time.]
They said that it was really him, and then - bang.
[Oh, well, his Team was good, they could get out of their even without his help, but really, Nexus!]

I think time sort of pauses when we come here. That's the general consensus, anyway. You'll still be able to rescue him when you get back.
no subject
I hope so, too.
[Siiigh.]
So, uh - You like it here?
[Awkward small talk go!]
no subject
I do. I wouldn't leave f-for anything. [Not too unexpected, considering his world.]
What about you? I mean, if you didn't have to worry about Snake...

[Like go to school, or get married and have children and stuff.]
[The school was one thing, but having biological children in his case probably would involve a fair amount of high tech which didn't exist yet, so he needed money for that. And to get that -]
[Sigh. Oh, well, who said that life was easy.]
no subject
[Not like Hal and his Liquids, who have little to return to.]
J-Just don't try to take over the world or something, okay?
no subject
I wouldn't.
[Well, not by military force, anyway. Trying to get enough money to buy the world or something like that didn't count, right?]
[He liked setting his sights high and all that.]
[James sighs]
Your world is in bad shape, huh?
no subject
Outer Heaven is beginning.
[And there's no one to stop it.]
no subject
[Wasn't that Father Dearest's little - project?]
What do you mean?

Gaaah, what idiocy. Do they actually want to be reduced to fighting with sticks and stones, or what?
[Keeping a proper army functional is so so so expensive, resources-wise.]
Some people must love the thought of living in a wasteland or something.
[Would the idiots please stop trying to turn the world into a place which might be good for them but not for almost anybody else, please? Thank you.]
[Think think think]
Oh, say - I wanted to ask you a question. What were all the countries doing, while all this was going on?
What about the USA? Who was the President?
[If it was who he thought it was...]

[He's from the early 90s, but he's met him here, at least a little bit. Though there's been something about the Patriots...]
[Well, he'll try to figure that out later.]
Well, there might be hope for your world after all, then. He's a brother of mine too, I think. Well, I mean, an alternate of.
[And from what little he knows of 'George' of world and time, the one thing he doesn't lack is ruthlessness. He'd nuke Shadow Moses in a heartbeat, probably, if push came to shove.]
[Though it all depended on what kind of state his mind was in and who's side he was in the first place, of course. If he'd been infected by Father Dearest's insanity too...]
no subject
[He hadn't heard about a third clone.]
no subject
Ah...If you ever find yourself back home, it might be good if you could find some way to - run, though.
Before somebody begins to think that nuking Shadow Moses to hell and back is actually is worth it, in the long run.
[Sigh.] Of course, I don't know just how things are in your world, but judging from mine...
[Well, if he was in George's shoes in that situation...Yeah. It wouldn't be his first option, or his second, or even his third, but.]
no subject
But I-I'll still try to run, if I ever go back there.
no subject
It is possible to just plain overwhelm this REX, right?
[Besides, it's 'George'. James suspects that he's perfectly capable of just carrying in a tac-nuke in by himself, if it came to that.]
Though, um, doing something that would just get you killed would be a waste. Would they be any way to contact the outside world?
Of course, it'll be even better if you could hack or hijack the thing, but.
