Remember Remember the 5th of November
[Deep inside one of the various rooms of the Nexus is an Ocelot. This room might be somewhat familiar to certain members of the building, but to those without realization of the location would be greeted by a pleasant Eastern European environment. Beautiful cityscape, quaint stores and coffee shops, and a dark sky with a bright moon overhead. The night life of this particular city was indeed a breathtaking sight to witness. Lamps illuminated the scope of the location above as though softening the features of the luxirious surroundings. Usually, it was fairly quiet at this time, but there happened to be a lot of bustling of faceless bodies surrounding the streets and out by the water.]
[There was a chill in the air that night and the smell of gunpowder lingered in faint wisps. The aftermath of Halloween encouraged a more subtle evening ahead for the 5th of November celebrations. It wouldn't be long before the fireworks set off.]
[Ocelot was sat outside a café of a street corner. He leaned his arm on the small round table before him, a thick cigar held securely between gloved fingers. He could feel winter creeping up and decided to adorn his coat. The memories of this place, it was where he had been pulled from in his world. So much had happened by being in this world, this Nexus, it almost seemed an inevitability that he would never return home.]
[But no matter how many times he fought with that debate in his mind, he found himself not caring about the slim chances of returning to 2014. His life was perfect here. This was his home.]
[As that thought passed him, a bright pink flash of light sparked in the night sky. Ocelot smirked and raised his cup of hot chocolate to his lips, sipping the substance calmly.]
((ooc: Bonfire Night! Come and enjoy the sights, sounds and smells. There's plenty of stores open due to the event and open stalls with hot food ready to serve. You can go anywhere you like. Just don't fall in the water if you want to get a really good view of the fireworks.))

[He looks away, his gaze intensifying.] I do not know why this is all coming back to me. I have never felt guilt for my actions before now.

[Adam approaches the water front and meets the cold lake with his own icy stare.]
It seems to have caught up with me now. All at once, I suddenly feel very mortal.
no subject
I know how that is.
[Doesn't change how he feels right now, but there's no one else here other than other versions of himself that would completely understand.]

[Adam sighs deeply.]
There is little I can do to quench how I am feeling. You have your family back and I am doing what I can to make amends.
[Not that many people were giving him a chance to put things right, with good reasoning. Ocelot had spent much of his time alive working as an agent and being untrustworthy. His life before had repercussions and he was learning to pay for them.]
I am sorry, John. Your entire life has been one endless battle for you and I am well aware of my contributions.

[Right now, old John feels that Adam is all that he really has and he also feels that the man deserves some sort of life, seeing as John is probably the only one left that's willing to give him a chance.]

[Despite his words, his hand remains tightly gripped around John's. He doesn't want to ever let go but he often wonders if his lover would find happiness with someone else.]

Perhaps we should return inside. The temperature is beginning to drop.

[John loops his arm around Adam's and rests his other gloved hand atop his.]
Come on.
no subject
Neither can I. I do prefer the heat but fireworks at the beach didn't see appropriate for this time of year.

[Adam looks to John with a sly smile.] We should plan more outings. It would be good to get out of the apartment from time to time.

[He nods.] You're right. It has been far too long.
