[I Shot the Sheriff]
[He did a bad thing today. It's rather sobering but he did it...and it was easy. It felt good, but at the same time so horrible.
BUT
He knows the old man will regenerate with a more focused anger than before, and frankly, Snake isn't ready to take the brunt of that.]
[Snake wanders back to the bar, sits down, and hangs his head, thinking, trying to figure out what to do for when the old man returns. He could use some help but he's got no one. He's not surprised by this, or even all that saddened. He knows he did it to himself and he's not surprised that he finds himself alone again.]

Sshhhhit.

((ooc: Snake is an idiot. Oy vey.))

Snake?
[This one looked a little different from the ones he had met previously. Not that he had shown his face much around here...]
no subject
Yes, Hal?
[He doesn't recognize him. He does, as he knows it's Hal, but he doesn't because he's a lot younger than the ones he's used to.]

[This Otacon was from the Tanker, but he didn't seem too phased by the sudden grayer apperance his friend had taken on. In fact, it only went on to intregue him.]
Uh... sorry. You look a little different to the Snake from my time. Not too different though. I was still able to recognize you.
[He tries for a smile, but it falters once he realizes there's something different about Snake's eyes. He really didn't look all that well.]
You doing okay, Snake?

[Along with his hair and his lower weight, his posture isn't all that great, either.]
no subject
Are you sick? Maybe I could go grab you something to make you feel better.
[A quick adjusting of his glasses.] I know chicken soup sounds like the oldest trick in the book, but it has a tendancy to work pretty darn well.

[He sort of groans at the thought.]
No, I'm not the sort of sick that you think I am. More along the lines of a heavy heart...
no subject
Matters of the heart? That's not good...
Did you... break up with someone?
no subject
...
Patricide.

Snake, that was a long time ago. You can't let it eat you up.
[Though that would make him a hypocryte. He lived his own life in regret, believing his own father's death was in his hands for his selfish reasoning.]
[But Snake never had anything as petty as that in his life, right?]

I killed him.
[He hangs his head.] I shot him in the back of his head when he turned his back on me. I couldn't take it.
no subject
Was it one of the bad ones? From your past?
no subject
[He still feels awful. He's never truly enjoyed killing and this doesn't make him feel any better.]

[Hal offered Dave a sympathetic look. He wanted to pat his arm to show a source of comfort, but he still hadn't reached that stage yet. It had always been Snake to instigate things between them.]
I'm sorry, Dave... But I don't think coming to this bar and getting a hangover is really going to help you get over this any faster.
[He averts his eyes, feeling a bit silly for admitting it.] I'm worried about you.
no subject
[He looks at Hal strangely.]
Worried about me? I just killed my Father in cold blood, and this is the first time you are talking to me...and you are worried about me?
[Snake is both VERY CONFUSED and a bit touched.]
no subject
I guess it is a little weird, but I've been out of contact with people for a while now.
[He adjusted his glasses.] I've really missed talking to you. As a Snake. And I know when something's not right, even though I know everyone's a little different here.
Besides, no matter how old you are, we're still friends. Even if we haven't spoken before as we are now.
no subject
[He turns toward Hal as he continues to speak.]
I'd like to think that we can stay friends no matter what happens.
no subject
O-Of course we can! Nothing can come in the way of that. But you're not like Big Boss. Genetically, maybe. But no one is directly like their parents.
no subject
[He just nods in silence, mostly to please his friend. Dave can't shake the feeling that he's no better than his father.]
