[There's a young Snake roaming around, seemingly looking for someone. He has a concerned, fleeting look on his face. Despite his training to mask his emotions, he can't help the frown currently furrowing his brows.]
[He's lost someone important. He can't find her anywhere. No matter where he searched, Dr. Clark was no where to be seen.]
[He picked up his pace, moving from a stride, to a jog, to a sprint. His bandanna zipped about behind him, flying around his head. He panted, trying so desperately to find his carer, but when he eventually reached the lobby from searching the hallways of the entire building, he collapsed on a bench in exhaustion, panting hard.]
[Sweat dripped down David's face as he hunched over, trying his best to prevent his frustration from surfacing, but the obvious grimace on his face remained permenantly fixed.]
Damnit...

No.
[He turned his eyes away, not wanting to look at the older man. He already knows his past, and his reason. This man, of whom was supposed to be his father, did not want him.]
Where's Miss Clark?

[He can tell that things aren't right between them. He's not sure that they will be since this is a rather fragile age...for them both. He tilts his head, not wanting to answer him. He'd love to not be the bearer of bad news to a Son of his that he's just now meeting for the first time in the Nexus.]
I'm sorry...she's gone. I haven't seen her in some time now.
[He tries to hide his heartbreak at the loss of the only woman he loved.]

[David repeated the statement, and then averts his eyes. He was unsure what to say, now that he had been told directly that she was no longer here. It still didn't help matters.]
Right.
[He stood up, slowing his breathing down to gain composure. Being near Big Boss still made him uneasy. At least he wasn't trying to hug him this time.]
no subject
[He wants to know but at the same time he doesn't want to pry and make the child upset.]
...Does my presence bother you?
no subject
[He is still wary.]
no subject
I understand.
[He keeps his distance as much as he doesn't want to.]
no subject
[Spoken bluntly, but he did feel the need to be hesitant. What else was a kid supposed to do when they find out who their father is, and it's not actually their father, but they've been cloned AND the man he was spawned from wanted nothing to do with him?]
[Yeah. He's had a lot on his plate, for a thirteen year old kid.]
no subject
I am sorry, David.
[John sighs to himself. It bothers him to see the pain in this child's eyes. Pain that he cause by not being there. He doesn't quite know where to begin to mend this...or if he will even be allowed to.]
no subject
[He didn't know what to say to the apology, so he remained silent, looking down at his hands in his lap timidly.]
no subject
[He turns to leave but...he can't bring himself to walk away, because he's just be walking out of his Son's life again, and even if the boy doesn't want him around right now...he still needs someone so he sits on the bench next to him in silence. If the kid wants him to leave, then he will leave.]
no subject
You're not going to touch me, are you? I might have to attack you by force if you do that.
no subject
[He doesn't even look at him, for fear of his gaze coming across as intimidating. John is content to sit there and share the space with the boy. It's better than nothing and he will take what he can get without complaint.]
I wouldn't do that.
no subject
[He gazes down at the ground.] How should I be able to trust you?
no subject
Trust is something that has to be earned.
[Big Boss knows a lot about that and he's a very patient man.]
no subject
[That intimidated him. That people knew about him on a deeper level than he felt comfortable with.]
[His head rolled back gently.] I don't feel so good.
no subject
[This time he looks at him, genuinely concerned for his well-being. Maybe he could help him in some way. John is pretty happy that the kid hasn't hurt him or pushed him away yet so maybe he's making a little headway.]
Anything I can do?
no subject
No. I'll be fine.
[He had to be. Or at least, until he made it home again.]
[He forced himself to rise up, not wanting to sit around any longer, brooding over the futility of his life. He couldn't wait for Miss Clark anymore. He had to move forward.]
no subject
[Not what he wanted to hear, but what he wants to hear doesn't matter today.]
If you need anything, don't hesitate to come to me. Even if you just need company. I'll be willing to help you with whatever you need if you ever need it.
no subject
[He hoped not. But it certainly seemed that way. So many bonds tying him here--]
Alright.
[Not that he would be taking him up on that offer any time soon. That applied to anyone.]
no subject
I suppose, then, that I should take my leave.
[He stands back up slowly, his back is sore. That's what John gets for being so damn old.]
no subject
[He followed suit, stumbling much faster to his feet and stood in front of John, staring up at the much taller man. He stayed there for a while, mulling over things in his mind. He had so much he wanted to ask him, for this one seemed like he might actually listen to him properly.]
I want to talk to you. But I don't know what I want to ask.
no subject
You do?
Hmm. [The old man rubs his chin
s.] There's no need to rush things if you aren't entirely ready. When you know what you wish to ask me, I will be available to you.no subject
Where do you live?
no subject
I'm in that part where people think that there is nothing.
no subject
[A disconcerting look appeared on David's face. He refused to look away from that single eye staring down at him.]
Why?
