[There's a young Snake roaming around, seemingly looking for someone. He has a concerned, fleeting look on his face. Despite his training to mask his emotions, he can't help the frown currently furrowing his brows.]
[He's lost someone important. He can't find her anywhere. No matter where he searched, Dr. Clark was no where to be seen.]
[He picked up his pace, moving from a stride, to a jog, to a sprint. His bandanna zipped about behind him, flying around his head. He panted, trying so desperately to find his carer, but when he eventually reached the lobby from searching the hallways of the entire building, he collapsed on a bench in exhaustion, panting hard.]
[Sweat dripped down David's face as he hunched over, trying his best to prevent his frustration from surfacing, but the obvious grimace on his face remained permenantly fixed.]
Damnit...

[A shadow named Frank Jaeger.]
[How long this shadow has been following him on his hunt for Doctor Clark is unknown; maybe he'd caught up with him a few halls back, perhaps in the last infirmary he'd checked. It could even be only now that the boy has caught up with the other young soldier -- he won't say. He'll simply linger nearby, allowing his boots to click against the floor as he approaches David from behind.]
...You're tired.

[David can hear the echoing sound bounding off the walls. He doesn't immediately raise his head. Only when he hears the familiar voice does his chin turn, wearily gazing at Frank.]
Yeah? What of it?
no subject
Why?
[All Null recognizes is that David was running, possibly with the intent of looking for something. He doesn't grasp the idea of an emotional component behind the act -- something mentally exhausting in addition to the way he exerted himself to examine every visible hallway of the Nexus.]
no subject
Not that it's any business of yours.
[He grunts, averting Frank's gaze. His chest ached, similarly to when he had met Big Boss, when he had been informed of his family. A father. A brother.]
[He hunched over on the bench, sweating profously. It seemed as though he was in physical pain, but it was a strange unnerving feeling in his heart and stomach that beckoned him into a nervous state. He was alone.]
no subject
...What were you looking for?
no subject
[But to no avail, he was alone. She had not returned, and another promise had been broken.]
Someone.
no subject
Tell me then. Who?
no subject
[His voice was quiet, subdued, as though he didn't want to reveal too much. Like how he had come to view the woman as a mother figure, or that she was the only one who didn't seem to lie to him, or make him feel uncomfortable, unlike how Big Boss and Hal did.]

[He nods slowly, beginning to find some semblance of understanding. Although he'd only been in Doctor Clark's care for a handful of months prior to his arrival in the Nexus, if Elisa were to disappear for a length of time... He too would hunt the Nexus for her, until his feet were soaked in blood.]
[David has lost his doctor. He understands.]
I was temporarily under her care. She was my doctor prior to my arrival here.

She's left me. Just like my father did. They don't want me anymore.
[He clenched his fists tighter, trembling to his feet. He tore off down the hallway in his childish fit of rage and confusion, attempting to come to terms with things. While he had been in this building for a while, he still found even the simplest of situations questionably difficult. That meant coming to terms with the fact he wasn't in his safe environment of 'home'.]
[What scared him the most was that, he could not return there. He couldn't escape.]
no subject
[He understands that feeling more than he lets on.]
David. Wait.
no subject
[He slowed down after a moment, clutching hold of the nearest wall. He pressed his face against said wall.]
no subject
...I know what it means to be alone.
no subject
[He turned his head slowly, gazing at Frank. His eyes were stining, but he refrained from letting tears roll out.]
You do?
no subject
I've been alone my entire life... When you seek answers and the only response is silence... It is up to you to interpret what that silence means.
no subject
Silence.
I am not used to silence. [Perhaps that was what had driven him to a near insanity. That, mixed with his emotions and abandonment issues were not a fantastic mix.]
[He squints his eyes, rubbing them firmly.] No wonder you tried to kill me when we first met.
no subject
[He finally speaks, the corners of his mouth turning up ever-so slightly into a faint smile.]
If I'd wanted you dead, I would have killed you then. No questions.
no subject
I am aware of that. [He spoke in a quiet mumble. He had indeed been intimidated by Frank. He still was.]
no subject
You are not my enemy.
no subject
[It was still rather obvious that David had not encountered other children outside of Frank before. The concept of having an aquaintence of his own age, let alone his first friend... It was unfathomable.]
[The smile puts him at east, but he knows not to assume that everything is okay between them, that Frank won't try to kill him again.]

...A young girl, Sunny. She informed me of this event known as "Halloween". I am not entirely certain regarding protocol for the event... But I would like for you to accompany us.
no subject
Halloween...
[He pondered over the thought.] It's a common tradition. Not celebrated as widely as Christmas, but an occassion known world wide.
I have never celebrated it.
