[Pain got a call from Viper fifty minutes ago telling him to show up for a fight or he'd kill Alek.]

[Forty minutes ago, Pain called his 'nephew' Ocelot for help and started a plan.]

[Twenty-five minutes ago, The Pain used Mantis to find the Sorrow and figured out the plan.]

[And now he's waiting for Sorrow to report back on the state of Viper's traps before he goes to confront him. He's going to rescue Alek, no matter what he has to do.]

[The Pain is here. The Pain is not happy.]

[The Pain is ready.]

[Its silent for a long time until he decides to speak.]

[He is sad, but it comes out more as a statement than anything else.]

[Hawk is silent for a long time. Owl was one to make jokes, but he was pretty sure that he wouldn't joke about something like this.]

I understand. Where are you at? Are the perpetrators still in the area?

[Hawk is upset as well, but he had learned to dull his feelings a long time ago.]

[The comment was unneeded, then again this was Owl he was talking to.]

[Slasher wasn't too aware of what burning flesh smelled like (and of course he took the hint seriously), so he nodded to his hawk. Jumping off of his shoulder, the hawk led the way to the first floor room of which Owl spoke of. Opening the door cautiously, Slasher peered inside.]

Owl...? Are you still in there?

[Owl is still here, sitting on the floor inches away from the once burning body. Kohal and Osan are lying around near the door, almost carelessly dropped yet careful enough to keep either from breaking.]

Of course...

[He's biting his knuckles trying to think of what comes next. If there was one thing he hated more than being murdered it was watching someone far stronger than he was just die. He didn't see it, but he knew who did it. It was like finding Laura all over again, yet he couldn't cry.]

He went to go fight Pain.

[His spirit hovers behind Owl like a shadow, watching him nibble and, for the moment, ignore his partners. He looms over him, protective but without any way to help him.]

[Seeing the corpse on the ground, Slasher advances a little closer, to be able to confirm the identity of the body. Seeing the charred marks, he closed his eyes, tilting his head down.]

Viper. He should have called me.

We need to move his body, Owl. We can risk the chance of leaving it here-...?!

[Glancing back over at Owl, he sees the faint form of a spirit. He was no medium, by any means, but he knew of people in his tribe that could see apparitions as clear as day. As hard as Slasher tried to observe their ways, he never thought that he could actually have the power to see them as well. But...perhaps he was wrong.]

Viper...?!

[He really hoped that he wasn't going insane.]

[Did his eyes deceive him?! For now...Hawk had to trust that what he saw before him was real.]

How long ago were you killed? Have you any orders for me to carry out while you're gone?

[He swims in vision, a foggy shadow, with a voice like a vague echo.]

Watch over Owl. Keep him out of trouble.

[Hawk nods.] Alright.

[He looked over at Owl. That task was easier said than done. But for Black Chamber, he'd do his best.]

Owl, we should go. We do not know if the people who did this will come back or not.

You never go back to the scene of the crime.

[He's just going to ignore the fact that you were talking to the air, and asking it for orders. Getting up he grabbed his dolls, making his way past Hawk.]

We can leave h- the body here, no use carrying around dead weight.

[Plus, from how long he was burned it would be useless to try and pick it up..]

[Well, Owl did have a point.]

Very well. Let's go to our base, for now.

[He walked out of the room, giving one last long glance at Viper's body. He shook his head slowly and looked back at Owl.]

When did you find him?

A while ago.

[That could range from a few minutes ago, or even an hour ago. Either or, did it really matter?]

Why didn't he tell you?

[Owl's a little irritated, and a mix of other things. Or did he tell the whole 'This is my fight' thing to Hawk as well?]

[Hawk glanced at him, a bit irritated. He should have known that he wasn't going to get a straight answer out of him.]

I don't know why he didn't tell me.

[He frowns. Was he not a valued enough member to be told these things?]

Do you know who killed him?

[Hawk was pretty sure he knew as well, but he wanted to make sure.]

[Maybe Viper thought it was smart to fight alone. He would never say that aloud though.. Just keep it to himself.]

The Pain.

[He was sure that was who killed him at least.]

I'm sure it was.

[And he could bet money that it was the same way he died.. Or maybe Viper just ran into someone with a flamethrower.]

[Hawk figured as much. However, when he had met Pain, he really didn't seem like that bad of a guy. Granted, he had killed his comrade and friend before arriving here, but he didn't seem to have a vendetta against Hawk at all. Was there something else involved in this matter?]

I wonder if there were others involved in his death.

I don't think that our leader would be taken down so easily by one man.

[Well, if it wasn't for the fact Owl had killed Para-Medic.. Pain would have seemed like a nice guy, but for that fact alone Owl didn't like him. He did like the other Pain though, a guy like that could even scare him.~]

Who else do you think was involved?

[Hawk had a point, but a man covered in hornets would be hard to take down.. And-- Wait. So, was that a small hint that one man would easily take down Owl >/ ]

...I don't know. The man spoke of being in a unit of his own. Perhaps one of them assisted him.

[Well, Owl did get pretty easily distracted. It was entirely possible. :3]

In either case, do not put haste in taking action. We should both lay low, until Viper comes back.

...it seems as though I have the power to see the dead.
