And what's left is...
[Kaz is feeling a bit "down," one might say. There's a bit less of a bounce in his step, a more serious air surrounding him. He stands in the library, a heavy, dusty, worn leather-bound reference book in his hand. He turns the pages with care, gaze wholly focused through dark lenses on the pages before him.]
[At a glance, he looks to be pretty normal. He shouldn't even seem depressed, really. A better word to describe him is probably "subdued." Something... something is different, something is missing.]
[Go ahead and talk to him. See for yourself.]
((Due to a room effect, Kaz has accidentally his whole overactive libido for three days! This post is NOT getting locked, so help me. :I /shakes fist))

[He sighs very softly and closes his book.]
Did you come here for some reading material yourself?

[Admittedly, this brings a bit of a smile to Kaz's lips.]

[SUBJECT CHANGE IS GO]

[Manga sure did get weird in the last forty years.]
Looking for information, an edge, a way to understand this place. I've definitely been staring at dusty books for too long, though.
[He rubs at his eye beneath his aviators.]

I take it you haven't found anything. You would look more excited if you had.
[Something about Miller seems downcast and restrained. Liquid decides to cheer him up.]
[He puts his arm around Kaz's waist and smirks.] Why don't you take a break.
no subject
The information would be invaluable if I could only confirm its validity. Looking up the author and publisher has gotten me nothing so far.
[Kaz leans against Liquid a bit and stares at the heavy book.]
And do what?
no subject
[Ah, Miller is playing coy. Liquid brushes a light kiss beneath his ear]
I believe we could think of a few things~
no subject
[When Liquid leans in and kisses him, he feels... nothing. It's a nice gesture but it doesn't make Kaz feel any sort of giddiness around him. The thought of seeing Liquid doesn't send any chills through him, either.]
[Kaz is starting to become aware of what's going on, but he can't exactly figure it out.]
Liquid, something... is wrong with me.
no subject
[He makes a habit of enjoying Kaz's reactions...but there aren't any. Not so much as a sigh. He pauses and looks him over closely]
You look all right...
no subject
[He looks at Liquid, finally, and puts the book on the shelf out of place.]
I guess I'll take some comfort in that. Can you tell if something else is wrong, then?
[Kaz is starting to look lost. He hasn't felt so not-at-home in his body since he was a teenager.]
no subject
[Liquid comes closer and feels Kaz's forehead.]
no subject
[Kaz isn't sure if he simply wants to test this or prove himself wrong, but he asks Liquid the favor anyway.]
Liquid, kiss me.
no subject
Gladly. [That he can do.]
[Liquid grabs Kaz and gives him a deep, passionate kiss.]
no subject
[Kaz accepts those lips very willingly, then moves his own against them in a pattern they established long ago--]
[-- only to find that it's doing nothing. It feels warm, it feels intimate, but it's not... sexy. Kaz doesn't feel like throwing his thighs around Liquid now or pushing him against the bookcase to sneak a hand down his pants.]
[And dammit to hell, he immediately feels wrong and guilty for it.]
[His mouth is still but his hand at Liquid's back trembles.]
no subject
[The kiss is empty. Kaz's utter lack of response stops him cold.]
Kazuhira.
[He takes a step back out of the cool, meaningless embrace.]
You... [he could say "is there someone else?" but of course there is and that's never mattered before.]
Have I...done something...?
[You don't want me anymore.]
no subject
No. [A shake of his head.] God, no. I just told you that something is wrong with me, didn't I?
[Okay, so maybe, just for a moment, Kaz forgot how insecure Liquid can get.]
Don't you dare go anywhere.
no subject
Are you saying he is flawed and worthless?!]Is it a room effect? Has someone put saltpeter in your food?
no subject
[Kaz brings his forehead against Liquid's shoulder.]
I'm sorry. I could come and see you in a couple of days-- it should pass by then.
no subject
no subject
Are you sure?
[He knows he doesn't need to ask but the words come forth anyway.]
no subject
Besides, I'm interested in your project. If there's any information to be found on this place, I want to know it.
no subject
You're gonna make me cry one of these days, you know.
[He wasn't aware until just now how nervous he was that Liquid was going to abandon him for his lack of sexual interest. Wasn't that what their relationship was strongly based on?]
[His arm slips around Liquid's back just before a low rumble sounds from his stomach.]
no subject
Have you lost your appetite for food as well? That is especially not like you.
no subject
[Especially in good old Japan. Girls his age really had a thing for sensitive guys.]
[Kaz looks caught when Liquid says that, realizing it's quite true.]
It just didn't seem as important as what I was doing.
