(no subject)

[Big Mama, or EVA as some would call her, had been decorating her room in the headquarters with roses. Roses absolutely everywhere. God save the one who ever saw her doing this though. As much as she loved the orphans at times, she'd be... a tad embarrassed to have someone walk in on her as she did this.

With a small smile on her lips, she had been humming a soft tune as she put the flowers in a rather simple glass vase, only to soon notice that it wasn't filled with water. The old woman sighed softly and shook her head. She really was getting old, forgetful already? How he would laugh at her...

Ah, she really was getting old. Thinking of such silly things, oh stupid her. Smiling to herself, she wanders out from the room...
Only to find herself in an unfamiliar hallway. It wasn't entirely empty, sofas, chairs, tables and whatnot here and there. With a frown, she quickly looked back at the door, which now seemed to be locked.

Better be safe than sorry. Big Mama draws her gun, ready for anything that might attack. Or anything she can threaten...

((Big Mama before MGS4. Then gun she uses is here ))

[Like he always did, Dimitri was walking about, hauling something or another. This time around, he had a large shopping bag with him, laden with a long, sleeveless vest. He spied the older woman from afar, and steeled himself up to mind his manners. From the way she was holding that gun, she was obviously new around here.]

Good afternoon, ma'am. You can put the gun away; very few people here are prone to attack without provocation.

[identity profile] neurotic-insect.livejournal.com 2011-07-13 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
I take it you are new here?

[He took a few steps forward, not wanting to disturb her too much.]

Dimitri Lebedov. [He bowed his head in greeting.] A pleasure.

This place is called Nexus. Essentially, people from different universes and timelines are brought together for reasons unknown to live here for an undisclosed amount of time. There are numerous empty apartments, kitchens and a couple of gyms, and we also have a fully staffed hospital. I cannot guarantee when or if you’ll ever leave this place, but you’re not alone. There are countless other residents, most of whom are harmless.

[That about covered the basics.]

[identity profile] neurotic-insect.livejournal.com 2011-07-14 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
One of the bigger warnings is that there are multiples of the same people here. They may look just like you, but they're from a completely different time or place. It can be confusing at first, but it starts making sense eventually.

[Big Mama, huh? The name along brought to mind old memories that he shooed away very quickly.]

[identity profile] neurotic-insect.livejournal.com 2011-07-14 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
The only one that really comes to mind is a red-head with two large dolls, but he's rarely about.

[He smirked.] I could show you to one of the bars, if you'd like.

[He beckoned for her to follow, leading her to the elevator.]

The less you think about the logic in how this place works, the better of you'll be. For now, alcohol will take the sting off.

[identity profile] neurotic-insect.livejournal.com 2011-07-14 12:41 pm (UTC)(link)
At least here, the alcohol is always top-quality.

[The elevator came, and he let her enter first before heading down to the fourth floor.] Personally, though, I like vodka.

Fermented grapes do have their charm. A bit too bitter for me, though. Sensitive taste buds.

[He counted off the doors down the hall before opening one, finding it to be the very bar he liked best. Good and cozy, it was a place you wouldn't mind getting drunk in.] Ladies first.

[In her short while here, Emma has already found a portable music player and used her new laptop to fill it with songs. She had big, noise cancelling headphones upon her head and half-walked, half-danced on through the hallways, heading to one of the kitchens for a bit of snackage. The sight of the older woman appearing through a door and pulling out a gun.

Very slowly, Emma lowered her headphones, letting them rest on her neck.]

H-hello.

[identity profile] comp-kunoichi.livejournal.com 2011-07-13 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
I'm Emma Emmerich. [A smile grew on her face as she saw the woman put away her gun. She seemed like a real matronly type, which suited her just fine.] It's a pleasure to meet you ma'am.

[identity profile] comp-kunoichi.livejournal.com 2011-07-13 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Big Mama... [That codename spoke all kinds of volumes about the kind of woman she was speaking with.] I know it can be kind of scary when you first wind up here, but it's not so bad. Considering this is technically a prison, it's very cozy.

[identity profile] comp-kunoichi.livejournal.com 2011-07-14 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
It's kind of like...a really big dormitory. There's lots of room, doors that lead "outside", and just about every commodity you could ask for. The only tricky side is affect rooms.

[identity profile] comp-kunoichi.livejournal.com 2011-07-14 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
Well...it's like... [How does she explain this...] There are "counter rooms" where you have to perform a certain act a certain amount of times before you can leave it.

[identity profile] comp-kunoichi.livejournal.com 2011-07-14 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Kissing. Punches. One of the rooms had the dirtiest dice I've ever seen.

[The teen shrugged.]

[identity profile] comp-kunoichi.livejournal.com 2011-07-14 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
You could, but you'd have to find one of the restaurants or grocery store or a kitchen eventually. There's also laundromats and a lot of rooms with clothing stores inside.

[identity profile] comp-kunoichi.livejournal.com 2011-07-14 12:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course! One of the rooms is an actual onsen, and we've got parks and a beach as well. You can find everything here~

[Bliss in captivity was what it was.]

[identity profile] comp-kunoichi.livejournal.com 2011-07-16 04:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure thing~ There's always at least five empty apartments on each floor.

[She looked bewteen all the doors in the hallway, opening one at random. TO her relief, it was one of the apartments, although this one was a lot larger than the ones she ususally found. It was like a big condo.]

Uhm... Too big?

[identity profile] oldbeast.livejournal.com 2011-07-12 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[There isn't a moment of the day that David doesn't stop to think about his mother. He recalls the moment they initially met, of hearing her tale in regards to both his and Liquid's roles - as well as their intimate connection to the female spy and Big Boss, and the regret and pain he felt at failing her during his mission in Eastern Europe. Snake never liked women dying in front of him, but his own mother... It broke his heart.]

[So, when he notices a familiar woman stalking down the hallway, his pale eyes widen. It had been far too long since he had conversed with the woman. The nerves and the pain hit him ten-fold as he began to follow EVA down the hallway.]

... Big Mama?

[identity profile] oldbeast.livejournal.com 2011-07-13 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[Only when that familiar voice speaks to him does the retired soldier feel beckoned to move closer towards his mother. The woe in his eyes is unmistakable, that he has felt undeniable pain ever since that fateful mission. Hers was another life he couldn't protect... but here - in this nexus - he had a chance at redemption.]

[Although his heart is heavy, David lingers a few feet from Big Mama. Now that she's here, he's not entirely sure what he should say.]

It's been a while.

[identity profile] oldbeast.livejournal.com 2011-07-14 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
[Until the events of that fateful mission, no. David had no comprehension of who Big Mama was, but he was used to being kept in the dark about his familial ties. He had no idea Liquid Snake was his brother until Shadow Moses, and similarly Solidus until the incidents at Big Shell. To know he had a mother, that he wasn't as monstrous as Liquid had made him out to be, was a great relief on his old heart.]

Eastern Europe. You... don't remember?

[identity profile] oldbeast.livejournal.com 2011-07-14 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
-Then... you're from before the mission.

[A new one. Maybe David could reconcile with his mother here, to make up for all the wrongs that had happened on that fateful mission.]

[identity profile] oldbeast.livejournal.com 2011-07-16 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
[Old Dave exhales slowly through his nose.] -This is gonna sound strange, but what year is it for you?

[There was little point divulging information until he was certain of the whereabouts this EVA came from.]

[identity profile] oldbeast.livejournal.com 2011-07-17 04:25 pm (UTC)(link)
And where do you think you are right now? What part of the world?
