A Joint Library/Jr. Mad Scientist's Workroom Post
On the 7th Floor of the Nexus, there is a rather large Library, and next to it, there are several workrooms...

The Workroom
Hey, Mr Snake! Is this all right?
Re: The Workroom
Look, boy, I'm not an expert, all right? Not about robots!
[He still couldn't figure out how a robot kit from his world had ended up in the Nexus, but end up it had - And it hadn't been any old robot kit, but one of his Hal's brands.]

How can they cook so fast...

[A middle-aged but still striking woman is looking at Dmitri~]

I should hope so. I have to mend my own clothes. [Stitch, stitch, stitch and that seam was coming together smoothly.]

[She smiles at him.]
Hello, I'm Julie Danziger.
[If Dmitri looks into her mind, he might see something like her dead daughter in her casket, and then the same girl, alive again. Julie herself still hasn't processed all of this completely.]

[Dazzling smile. He had to give her that. Not a lot of older women could pull off looking attractive.]
Dimitri Lebedov. [He caught vague hints of not-so-nice images floating around in the woman's head, but he thought it best to leave them be. She obviously had some troubles, and it wasn't his business to pry. So he turned the glove inside out very briefly to make sure it fit.]

Have you been here long? ...This place is so strange...
no subject
About a month or two. It feels like I've been here for much longer since I have my own place.
no subject
Oh. I'm about the same, I think.
I'm living with my daughter now - Well, she's in the next room, and...This place isn't that bad, but I wish we could go home.
[Julie has not completely grasped that in her world, Emma was dead already.]

[He shifted where he sat, sitting more upright. The glove was intide out again, and he tied off the stitching he had been working on. Only two more fingers to go!]
How fortunate. Living here must surely be more bearable with a familiar face around. [Reaching in to the sewing kit, he brought ought the next tube of fabric for the fingers and turned it rightways to expose the stitching.]

[James grins at the odd man in the mask, and looks up at him. Yes, James is in his early 20s but is probably shorter then Mantis.]
[His mind might feel a bit strange, with what feels like lots of subpersonas buzzing around in the background - Subpersonas are quite ordinary in and of themselves (I think) but they don't usually buzz around quite like that.]
[Ohh, masked person! Talk to, talk to!]

The real fun comes when you start making larger pieces of clothing, like shirts or shoes.

[James looks admiringly at Dmitri. He can sew quite well, but making clothes from scratch is something he's never done.]
Oh. I'm James.
[Offers his hand.]
no subject
[He set down his glove and needle, shaking James' hand.]
A pleasure. I'm Dimitri Lebedov.
no subject
[He looks a bit younger, and is nowhere as paranoid looking, James feels.]
no subject
[Was that bitterness in his voice? Possibly.]
