An Unemployed Nerd Enters....

[ Hal Emmerich just lost his job at the FBI. People generally don't like you much if you hack into their central database. Especially the government. Now he's got a bad reputation and no one will talk to him about jobs. He's starting to run out of money for rent and he turned the heat off to save on money to keep his internet. The internet is more important then being warm, after all! ]

[ He goes out for a walk to clear his head and suddenly ends up in a place that he wasn't intending to go. This place is a bit odd, but it sure beats his apartment. ]

[Grinning, despite the cigarette hanging from his lips, Snake also extends his hand to shake Hal's firmly.]

The name's David, but I'd prefer it if you call me Snake. I work for FOXHOUND.

It's a codename. You know what that is, right?

[Snake raises a hand to his own shoulder, rolling it forward.]

Something like that- woah. FBI, huh? You here to check up on me?

You were hacking the FBI databases?

[Snake plucks the cigarette from his lips and exhales smoke as he speaks.]

Huh. You sound like a typical cyber criminal.

I'm pretty sure they all say that.

[Touching the tip of his cigarette, Snake watches as the ash falls to the ground.]

But you look trustworthy enough. I'll believe your word.

There's something else I forgot to mention about this place.

[Snake gestures down the hallway.]

All these doors lead to different rooms. You're lucky to find an apartment here. Other rooms aren't what you'd expect them to be.

You might walk out onto a beach, or a snowy Alaskan plane. I've heard about rooms made entirely out of food, too.

It's pretty crazy. Takes a while to adapt.

Heh. That's right.

[The soldier takes another slow drag of his cigarette.]

Try not to get lost. There's about fourteen floors.
