An Unemployed Nerd Enters....

[ Hal Emmerich just lost his job at the FBI. People generally don't like you much if you hack into their central database. Especially the government. Now he's got a bad reputation and no one will talk to him about jobs. He's starting to run out of money for rent and he turned the heat off to save on money to keep his internet. The internet is more important then being warm, after all! ]

[ He goes out for a walk to clear his head and suddenly ends up in a place that he wasn't intending to go. This place is a bit odd, but it sure beats his apartment. ]

[E.E. pauses her walking... This version of her brother looked closer to the one that ran away from home than the one from the Big Shell... He might not recognize her.]

[Hal's eyebrows shot up. He hadn't seen E.E. since...since after the accident. But she was older. Much older. But he knew it was her.]

Uhh...E.E.?

[He stumbled on his words a bit. This was awkward to say the least.]

[He tries to be positive.]

Yeah. Was taking a walk to get away from my rather chilly apartment. Was thinking Starbucks down the street since it's warm in there. Yet I was going to get a fraphachino even though it was snowing out. God those things are addictive.

[He blinks at bit at his rambling and gets to the point.]

But yeah. I was out walking and here I am.

[Thoughts of the pool come rushing into her mind. Emma shakes her head to force them away.]

Okay. [She nods then walks towards the nearest door and checks it. Its locked. Next door; locked as well. Emma grabs the third door down the hall and opens it. The girl peeks inside - looks like an unoccupied apartment.]

[Emma walks into the den, looking around.]

[he enters and looks around]

Wow. This is a lot nicer then that horrid place I was living in before.

[He sees an automatic coffee maker on the counter and a huge grin form on his face. Slowly he approaches it and gently pats the top of it.]

Ohh, I like it.

[A smile forms on her face - Emma knows how much her brother likes coffee. Her hand scoops up the apartment key from the kitchen table.]

Here, Hal. Make sure not to lose it.

[He takes it and pulls his keyring off his belt loop and fumbles a bit to get it on.]

Well, you could always just move into a new room if you can't get back into this one. There's usually a few rooms on each floor that are unoccupied.

[Emma has a lot of free time on her hands.]
