Christmas = Movie Time.

[The theatre hasn't been seeing much use lately, it would seem.

Para Medic has been spending some time cleaning off cobwebs and getting rid of abandoned popcorn tubs and mysterious stains that she does not want to think about, but now the theatre is ready for what she has planned.

A christmas movie bonanza.

She's been looking through the thousands of movies that have come out since her time. It's incredible. She's really eager to see some of them. But it would be a shame to just watch them alone. That's why she's put signs out.

Jane already has a steady pile of movies set up ready. This is going to be fun.]

(Yeah, she's the one I'm actually keeping around.)

You just remind me of someone, that's all. Do you know anyone that goes by the name of "Snake" or "David"?

Yeah. I'd like to think that I know David pretty well.

...oh, are you another of his siblings? I've met the grumpy blond one, but not you, I don't think.

_{One of them, anyway...}

[He just sighs, as he always does, when he's not recognized due to his physical age.]

...David?

[She goes to his side slowly, lifting a hand to his face.]

I'm sorry. I guess I wasn't thinking.

[He pulls away before her fingers can touch his skin. Dave is very self-conscious about his appearance; more so now than ever before in his entire life.]

[She starts, lowering his hand.]

I, uh... guess you don't remember me? Dr Clark?

[The younger David had said she'd raised him for a time, after all.]

I remember you. I've met you...or one of you before.

[He sort of looks at her then glances away, clearly embarrassed and completely uncomfortable.]

Are you alright? You seem very stressed out. You know you shouldn't let things like this get to you.

Yeah?

I bet that's really easy to say when you're not the one suffering from accelerated aging.

I hope that being stuck in this Nexus has slowed it to normal, at least, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

...accelerated? But unless that was encoded into your genes, how-?

[Ah. That explained a lot. But she was still at a loss as to what she could do.]

It was encoded into my genes.

Nothing can be done about it because of that. It's how Zero wanted us...

[He's gotten numb to the truth of his condition, finally. Dave is much more concerned with the extension of his life in the Nexus now.]

[It's hitting worse for one important reason. Para Medic knows David. If she had kept herself impartial, if she hadn't gotten to know one of the clones, it would have just been another fact of the project that was concerning but that she could adapt to. She's only one year away from that point in time, after all.]

I see... David, are you hungry?

A little.

...

[Not really. He could pass on eating at this point, but he doesn't want to come off as being too moody. Dave could use more friends right now, becuase being reminded of how fragile he really is shakes his psyche to the core.]

Well, why not help yourself to the popcorn and I'll go set the movie running? We can watch it together.

Hnn...

[Old Snake makes his way to the snacks and fetches himself a bag of buttered popcorn. He eyes the rest of the spread and ends up snagging a candy bar or two.]

David! What's your favourite movie?

[She leans over the balcony to call to him.]

Oh, I don't know; I have a lot of favorites.

How about Star Wars?

Ooh, I haven't seen any of those. Which one? There's about six of them here.

Hn...well, in that case, we should probably start with Episode I.

[He rubs his chin, still thinking about his suggestion, but story-wise, he feels that it may be for the best.]

Alright then. Start from the beginning it is.

[She carefully sets the movie up and sets it going, yoinking some popcorn of her own.]

[Dave takes a seat in the back of the theater in the darkest corner, leans back, crosses his legs, and starts in on his snacks.]

[Para Medic stays up on the balcony in case the machine messes up, leaning over it. Occasionally her gaze strays thoughtfully to the old man. He seems almost to be hiding.]

[He is hiding. Snake doesn't want to be spotted. If he had a box, he'd be sitting in it in the back of the theater in the darkest corner.]

[Well that's too bad because Para Medic knows precisely where he is. Even if he crawled under the chairs and stealthed to another place, she'd probably be able to spot him from up here. Unless he was under the balcony, that is.]
