//hello darkness my old friend
[Otacon had managed to hit a stroke of good luck around here; things were nice, really nice. Even if he was in a bit of a weird place as far as relationships went, he was happy for the moment.]
[And then the lights went out as he was walking to the kitchen. Now Otacon wasn't exactly afraid of the dark, strictly speaking.]
I...Ivan? Liquid? A...anyone?
[He was afraid of what might have been in it.]

[CALL]
[CALL]
[Ivan himself is rather shaken, but for a different reason. Namely, the lights. In his chair, he's vulnerable at the best of times. Wandering around in the dark is far from pleasant. Luckily, however, he does have a torch. He shines the pale circle of light around, glad that nobody is there.]
[CALL]
[CALL]
Where are you? I'll come find y-
[Wait. That wouldn't work. He swore in Russian beneath his breath, realising.]
...the elevators are down too, without the power. I can't get off my floor. Can you get down here? Is there someone who can bring you?
[CALL]
What floor are you on?

[He hung up, pulling his shirt and labcoat back on before picking up a nearby messenger bag. After somestumbling around his room he filled it with a few emergency candles, some matches, his laptop, and extra batteries for the flashlight he picked up a moment later.]
[Otacon took off his broken glasses and slipped them into a coat pocket before fumbling with his extra pair and putting them on. Hesitantly--and gripping the lit flashlight like it was his only lifeline--he walked out and made his way to the third floor.]
I-Ivan...? Are you there?

What happened?!

[The room wasn't far; Ivan hadn't dared to go too far from it just yet. He unlocked the door, entering and holding it for Otacon. The room was a little untidy, books scattered over most surfaces, the occasional discarded weapon. A pie sat on the windowsill, next to a glass of water and a small bottle of pills.
It was thankfully asleep.Other than that, the room was mostly empty, save for furniture.]My apologies for the mess.
no subject
D-don't worry about it. I don't mind.

[He lightly shut the door behind them, transfering himself from the wheelchair to the bed almost automatically. It was less painful.]
