[Something Surly This Way Comes]

[It's been a while since this particular middle-aged Big Boss has made his presence well-known. He's been making an effort to stay under the radar for some time because he's working on something. The Commander has been collecting other soldiers, weaponry, ammo, and...mechanical parts. What could he possibly be recycling those old parts into? Only one logical guess comes to mind: a Metal Gear, however, Big Boss is about as machine and computer savvy as a rock, so there's actually very little that he could cobble together by his lonesome. He'd need an Engineer or two to make his dream a reality. You never know when you'll need a nuclear deterrent in the Nexus.]

[Big Boss, of course, thinks that this is a good idea.]

[Until then, he's essentially training himself, his recruits, and helping to make sure that the Mother Base section of the Nexus remains in full working order. He's been able to amass his, albeit still rather small, army and his resources without any resistance. Living in the Nexus has its perks.]

((ooc: Nothing to see here. Go about your normal business as always. Ignore those rocket launchers he's hauling.))

[I'm bored okay]

pssst.

[Standing in a random dark and shady hallway, Skowronski tries to get your attention. He wears a long trenchcoat; face lowered toward the floor]

Hey. Hey, you! [His gruff voice calls]

Do you like... pickles?

((Don't eat Skowronski's pickles, man. They cause epic diarrhea.))

Anniversary Post for Hebi X3

[A cold bed, empty sheets. A house, so familiar, she could get used to this. Her daughter, isn't she precious? Her husband, she doesn't see him much, but his presence is stronger. Reading, dreaming, escaping, Hal knocks on her door. Warmth in her lap and she holds him, cries into his shoulder. Can't do this. So many tissues, so many words. Nothing's changed, everything's changed. A letter left on his desk, a kiss goodbye. A bus in the rain. A ticket, anywhere, not here. Black, white...]

[White is the color of the dress adorning Julie's body as she comes to on the roof of the Nexus. The sky is blue, the sun is shining, and in an instant, she knows where she is, where she's returned to.]

[Slowly, the woman stands, her mind overwhelmed by everything she's been through in the past week. Nonetheless, her home here with Dave feels much more like "home" than anywhere else. Willing her mind to clear, she starts walking, going to him and being held in his arms her top priority.]
