[Roy feels better; really, genuinely better since the rather dramatic events that transpired over the past few weeks. He's walking away from the flashback room, hands folded behind his head and smiling]

[he's also on the lookout for his squad. You know who you are, so stop hiding and come bug him]

[has been secretly watching Roy's flashbacks and is totally touched by having such a big part in them.]

[hug time? yes, it is. Cue a very abrupt hug]

Hey, nothing wrong with--woah!

*Pauses for a moment, before giving him a hug back*

Heh- what's gotten into you?

*There's a hand on your hair, patting softly*

Sort of. I was just thinking and...

I think I'm ready for this. For the baby.

Once again, do I really need an excuse?

[cliiiing]

*laughs* Guess not.

*Still hugs him, looking amused*

Well. Nice to see you happy every once in a while.

*clears his throat*

Meaning, instead of the ball of mopey you usually are, heh heh.

About...the past. Things that happened a while ago still make me happy. It feels nice to remember them.

Whoa, Roy?! [cligned to]

If only for meeting you guys. That place was hell.

[cups the back of her head]

[talking a mile a minute] Boss Boss Boss remember that time you visited me in the hospital wasn't that groovy?

[Can't say he has, since he's from during MPO (if Roy already forgot that), but hey, he saw the Flashback.]

It was so totally boss don't even lie about it can't believe I forgot--

Yeah! [excited] Count me in!

[salutes!]

.. What, you forgot about it? [suuulk] That hurts, you know.

I have a lot on my mind! And the subconscious sometimes blocks certain memories unconsciously if they pertain to a traumatic event, you know. I mean, this one wasn't bad at all, but it was following the FOX takeover, and that was pretty terrible enough--

[rubs the back of his neck. Guess that makes sense.]

Sounds like an excuse to m--

[Like he's one to talk. He's not even gotten around to experience that memory.]

Yeah, well. Sorry again for dragging you into all of that...

[finally straightens up and lets go of him] Into what?

[says this calmly, lighthearted but not mockingly whatsoever; he understands what Big Boss is saying, and means that it's forgiven and forgotten]

San Hieronymo. The FOX unit revolt.

It all turned out fine in the end, though. Right?

*keeps laughing*

The point is that I've put you in danger and had you fighting a war that wasn't yours.

[shakes head] I knew that my life would be in danger the moment I agreed to go on the mission that led me to that prison cell. And you needed support; I wanted to help.

It's not something to beat yourself up over.

I'm not. I'm grateful for everything, Roy- but still. [sigh]

I guess you're right. I'm still overwhelmed by all those people willing to put so much trust into me.

You're someone they look up to. A good leader to place their faith in.

At least, that was always my impression.

I'm not really a leader...

But I still appreciate people placing their faith in me. Means a lot to me, actually.

I'm good. How are you Uncle Roy? *doesn't think they've spoken since she arrived. She really needs to get to know the younger version of her Uncle some more*
