But Solidus never told him to stop patrolling. So there he is, a ten year old soldier with an AK in his grasp, ready to kill any hostiles he happens to come across. The Small Boy Unit band on his arm remained to serve as a reminder to Jack; he was the leader of the unit, even if it wasn't here yet. For now, he had to treat them all as MIA. He didn't miss them, but he was incapable of it. He was incapable of any real emotion like this.]

I am from Liberia... my people are whoever he tells me are mine. I follow him because I have no other choice. There is no other alternative... traitors are executed, and even if they were not, they would soon die trying to fend for themselves. Children, and even adults, won't last long out there without the proper support.

It sounds similar to my homeland. The al-Anfal campaign...it sought to rid all of the Kurds in Iraq. They would capture any capable man, routinely beating them, until they could be organized into mass executions. They tried to act as if they spared the women and children, but that was hardly the case! Whether it was starvation, exposure, or gas attacks, their deaths were still on their hands!

For a long time they had me programmed to their side...fighting against my own people, but he...he saved me. And he made it so that I would never have to be in the middle of the battlefield again. Instead, I could choose who to target.

Perhaps you need someone to rescue you as well.

But he's my only family... he took me in when my parents died... I can't leave. And I'm the leader of the Small Boy Unit now... I can't abandon them, too.

Small Boy Unit? What is the point of that? Women make the better assassins!
