unavoidable

[Ocelot lay curled on top of the blanket in the borrowed bed.

He had felt improved for a short time, but with Big Boss out foraging he was all alone in the locked apartment room. The loneliness bothered him, because with Big Boss gone the distraction was gone. Ocelot always had a sharp imagination, and he couldn't shut off his troubled thoughts.

Dying for nothing was the worst kind of failure.

A cold night breeze drifted through the open window, teasing the small fire burning in the middle of the room for light. Unable to sleep (and unwilling to since no one else was there to make sure it didn't burn down the whole room), Ocelot watched the fire from his comfortable spot on the bed.]
